The Procedure

Uses ultrasound technology to make the fat soft like butter, allowing the removal of superficial fat to create definition around the muscles. It is a gentle form of liposuction with no aggressive suctioning. The consistency of the fat makes it easier to suction out fat and allows for a smooth and natural result.

Post Surgery

What is Vaser High Definition Liposuction?

These days, it seems that not many of us have the spare time to work out in the gym to get that six-pack we’ve all been dreaming of. Vaser High Definition Liposuction is a surgical technique that can help fit and healthy people achieve the visible muscle definition they’ve been working for. At Cosmos Clinic, our doctors are specialists in body contouring – specifically for liposuction procedures. Our doctors have been trained by the best surgeons around the world, including Dr Alfredo Hoyos (the inventor of Vaser High Definition Liposuction) and Dr Matlock (Beverly Hills, USA).

The procedure: What does it involve?

Below outlines the procedure to expect on the day of Vaser Hi Def Liposuction.

Medications are given to make you feel relaxed and comfortable. Incisions (half a centimetre wide) are then made in hidden spots, to allow for the introduction of the cannula.
The area to be reshaped is filled with a tumescent saline solution that helps numb the site and shrink the blood vessels (this helps minimise any blood loss and reduce bruising).
A small probe is inserted into the treatment area. It transmits sound energy to break up and liquefy or melt the fat tissue, whilst preserving other important tissues.
This technique allows the removal of the fat layer just under the skin to allow for the creation of an abdominal six-pack, with a specialised cannula designed to minimise trauma to surrounding tissue structures such as nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue. This approach promotes smooth results and rapid healing. The suction process puts specific emphasis on outlining the muscles of the upper body, like the rectus abdominis, serratus anterior, obliques, pectorals and latissimus dorsi.
The heat from the ultrasound causes the skin to retract to give a smooth, natural result.

What is the difference between Vaser and Vaser Hi Definition Liposuction?

Vaser Liposuction and Vaser Hi Def Liposuction both use ultrasound technology to break apart fat deposits for easier removal, leaving a more refined and smoother result, with less pain and less downtime. Vaser Liposuction  is a body contouring procedure that shapes the body by getting rid of any uneven pockets of fat. This gives a toned look to the body, with softer lines than Vaser hi def. Vaser High Definition goes one step further in the process of body sculpting. Developed for men and women who want a more athletic and muscular appearance, the Vaser High Definition technique removes fat from around and on-top of the muscle groups, to enhance the visibility of underlying muscles, producing ultra-defined results. The best candidates have good skin tone, and can feel the muscle underneath the skin, when contracting. For example Vaser High Definition would remove the small amounts of fat in-between the abs, to bring out a perfect, athletic look, six pack.

What body areas can be treated with Vaser High Definition Liposuction?

Vaser Hi Def Liposuction can be used on any part of the body you wish to add muscle definition. The most popular areas for body contouring are the:

  • Stomach: Carving out an athletic appearance, defined 6-pack.
  • Chest: For the men, liposculpture can be used to transform man boobs into a well-shaped firm chest, with a more square shaped chest rather than a round feminine look, making your pecs more pronounced.
  • Arms: Adding fine detail to the biceps and triceps for that overall ripped look.
  • Back: Giving the slim ‘S’ shape in women, or the desirable ‘V’ shape in men to define the lats (latissimus dorsi). The Venus dimples can also be revealed with Vaser high definition liposuction.

What can I expect after the procedure?

After your Vaser Hi Def Liposuction treatment, some fluid drainage can occur from the incision point and drains, this will normally last for 3-5 days. A compression garment will need to be worn for 3 – 6 weeks to assist in reducing bruising/swelling and improve skin retraction. You will return home on the same day of the procedure. You will not be bed-ridden, and we encourage you to move about and not be stagnate. Everybody heals differently, you know your own body and we suggest you listen to it and give yourself time to heal properly. Normal daily activities can be returned to the day after the procedure, however vigorous activities such as exercise or sports must be avoided for 4-6 weeks. You will require regular lymphatic massages over 2 weeks, with our onsite physiotherapist or nurse. The lymphatic drainage massage helps speed up recovery by dispersing the excess fluid to help provide the best results possible. The swelling will peak at 7 – 10 days and subside at 3 -6 weeks. Bruising will last 2-3 weeks. At weeks 2-3 you may develop some underlying scar tissue that can be treated using PRP at our clinics. The 1/2 cm incisions will heal in under a week.   • Do maintain a healthy diet
  • Do listen to your body
  • Do take care of your surgical sites
  • Do attend post surgical check ups

Do the fact cells come back? Are the results of Vaser High Definition Liposuction permanent?

The actual number of fat cells in a person’s body remains stable after adolescence. Unless we become grossly obese, you do not grow more fat cells after adolescence. The fat cells grow bigger when you put weight on and smaller when you lose weight. When the fat cells are removed by liposuction, it is more difficult to gain fat in the treated areas. Liposuction results in a permanent change in your shape. When you put weight on after Liposuction it is in a more even distribution. Results. What and when can I expect them?

Most results from Vaser Hi Def are obtained at 6 weeks. At this point, photo’s will be taken to assess your progress. The final results may not be apparent for 3 – 6 months post-operatively. Strict adherence to the pre-operative and post-operative requirements is necessary in order to achieve the best possible results.

What are the benefits of Vaser Hi Definition Liposuction?

  • Precision: Vaser High Definition can achieve this high level of muscle definition. Other forms of liposculpture can not achieve this.
