    THE TREATMENT

A true non-surgical alternative to Rhinoplasty

Non-surgical rhinoplasty or a non-surgical nose job, is a procedure using Volume Enhancement Treatments aimed at modifying the shape of the nose, offering a non-surgical approach. A non-surgical nose surgery can bring aesthetic benefits and balance to a patient’s face. By camouflaging bumps or indentations in the nose, it creates a more symmetrical and appealing appearance. Also, by correcting abnormalities in the shape of the nose this often results in the nose shape appearing smaller.

Some reasons for considering non-surgical nose reshaping, or injectable rhinoplasty, include:

    • Flat bridge correction: Volume Enhancement Treatments can be used to create a subtle increase in height, such as by placing product at the tip of the nose to create an appearance of a lift.
    • Symmetry correction: A slightly crooked or off-centred nose can be balanced in appearance with Volume Enhancement Treatments.
    • Camouflage: A bump or hook on the bridge of the nose can be augmented with products to create a straighter bridge.
    • Create Balance: The size of the nose in comparison with other facial features can be balanced by adding Volume Enhancement Treatments to increase nose size or to create the appearance of a smaller nose.
    • ‘Droopy’ nose tip correction: If the tip of the nose appears to droop downwards, product can be applied to elevate the tip.
    • Rounded nose tip correction: Volume Enhancement Treatments can change the appearance of a rounded nose tip if a more defined tip is desired.
    • Shape refinement: Following surgical rhinoplasty, the nose shape can be refined further by applying Volume Enhancement Treatments to achieve further improvements.
    • Other minor concerns: Volume Enhancement Treatments can be used to achieve improvement in various nose aesthetic concerns.

To find out if your concern can be improved with a nose Volume Enhancement Treatments procedure, we recommend booking a thorough consultation with one of our highly experienced nurses or doctors at Cosmos Aesthetics. Whether you are in Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide, or Gold Coast, Cosmos’s collective experience of over 50 years will ensure that you can achieve the best results possible.

How a non surgical rhinoplasty procedure works

Non surgical rhinoplasty involves removing small bumps or adding volume to the nose without the need for surgical intervention. Volume Enhancement Treatments are injected into the required areas, making subtle changes to the nose with very little downtime, minimal swelling, and instant results. A non-surgical nose job involves a few tiny injections of Volume Enhancement Treatment into the deep layers of the nose (the perichondrium or the periosteum layers), that will be moved and shaped to create the desired appearance. The simple yet very effective procedure will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes and should be completely tolerable as a topical numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area. Nose reshaping treatments create long-lasting results, that can remain noticeable for 18 to 24 months.

    Non surgical nose job costs

Non surgical nose job prices will vary, as costs will depend on your overall situation, your individual procedure details, and your expectations. Each patient will need different amounts of Volume Enhancement Treatment to achieve their desired results, and the amount used will influence the costs of the treatment. To receive a personal quote for treatment costs that is tailored to your individual treatment needs, discuss your goals with a Cosmos Aesthetics nurse or doctor during your initial consultation.

A non surgical rhinplasty procedure using Volume Enhancement Treatments will be cheaper than a traditional surgical rhinoplasty, however, additional treatments will be needed to maintain results in the long term. The Volume Enhancement Treatment will naturally dissolve over time, and the rate at which this happens will vary from patient to patient. Usually, patients will need another treatment after about 18 to 24 months after their first procedure to refresh their results.

    As a price guide:

    • Cost starts from $700
    • The initial consultation is between $120 – $330, and will be redeemable upon treatment

Suitable candidates for a nose procedure

Good candidates for a non surgical rhinoplasty, are those who would like to make some adjustments to the shape of their nose to improve on aesthetic aspects such as flat bridge correction, symmetry improvement, camouflaging bumps, and other similar concerns that can be addressed with Volume Enhancement Treatments.

An injectable rhinoplasty procedure can be a good choice for those who have had surgical rhinoplasty and would like to make a few further changes or minor improvements. It can also be a non-permanent solution for those who are hesitant to undergo a surgical rhinoplasty procedure, as it can give patients an idea of how results from permanent surgery may appear.

However, some patients may not be suitable for treatment, as health concerns such as allergies to certain medications may interfere with eligibility to undergo the procedure. Some patients may also find that the structure of their nose is not suitable for this particular procedure, for example, those who may have a very high dorsal hump that when treated with product can make the nose appear much larger. In this case, a surgical option might be more suitable. It will depend on your individual aesthetic characteristics and needs that you would like to address.

The best way to determine your suitability for a nose reshaping procedure is to book a consultation at one of our Cosmos Aesthetics in Sydney, Canberra, Gold Coast or Adelaide and discuss your goals with one of our experienced team members.

The recovery period from non-surgical rhinoplasty is minimal and is often described as a procedure that has no downtime, allowing patients to walk out of the appointment and resume their usual daily routine. After the procedure you may experience some slight swelling or bruising which will go away very quickly. You will receive recovery care instructions that are tailored to your individual procedure details. Some post-procedure care instructions or recovery tips may include:

    • Reducing swelling and bruising by applying cold compress such as an ice pack, or by applying topical creams
    • If possible, avoid wearing glasses for about 48 hours to avoid applying pressure onto the nose area
    • Wait 24 hours after treatment to wear makeup or to apply skincare products
    • Take a break from vigorous exercise for 48 hours to allow any bruising to subside faster
    • Try to stay out of the sun and places that can expose the nose area to high amounts of heat such as saunas for about a week
    • Avoid pressing on or applying pressure to the nose area

Non-surgical nose job risks and side effects

Like with all procedures, the non-surgical nose job still carries some risks and the chance that complications could occur. This is why it is important to choose a clinic that has a team of knowledgeable and trained nurses and doctors who are highly experienced with injectable procedures. At Cosmos Aesthetics, we have a team with over 50 years of collective experience, and extensively trained nurses and doctors that specialise in injectables.

Some minor side effects include swelling, bruising and tenderness, which should subside within a few days after treatment. In rare cases, injectables can affect the blood vessels that are present in the nose and around the nose area, which can lead to more significant complications. It is important to select a clinic with an experienced team to perform the treatment to minimise risks and raise the likelihood of achieving optimal results.

When is it more appropriate to undergo a non-surgical nose job than a surgical approach?

Many patients with minor or less severe irregularities of the nose can achieve a more desirable nose appearance using a Volume Enhancement Treatment injection, thus avoiding the need to undergo invasive surgery. It may also be a more appropriate choice for patients who would prefer a less permanent change than what a surgical nose job will create, or for patients who are not eligible for surgery. A non-surgical nose job avoids the risks of surgery and has no effect on nasal breathing as it only involves the injection of a Volume Enhancement Treatment into the skin. The procedure is very precise as it uses small amounts of product at a time, and detailed adjustments to the nasal contouring can be achieved.

What are the benefits of a non-surgical nose job?

Non-surgical rhinoplasty can bring aesthetic benefits and balance to a patient’s face. By camouflaging bumps or indentations in the nose, it creates a more symmetrical and appealing appearance of the nose. Also, correcting abnormalities in the shape of the nose often results in the nose appearing smaller, although the size has not changed.

It is often referred to as a ‘5-minute nose job,’ or ‘the lunchtime nose job,’ because of how fast the procedure can be performed and the walk-in, walk-out nature of the appointment. The procedure involves no downtime and patients often find it is a completely tolerable procedure thanks to the numbing cream that is used. While results are long-lasting, they aren’t as permanent as a surgical nose job, so it can be a more temporary option for those who are hesitant to undergo surgery to permanently change the appearance of their nose.

A non-surgical nose reshaping treatment is less costly than surgery and is a faster option in terms of procedure time and recovery time.

Will I need multiple non-surgical nose reshaping procedures done to maintain my results?

As the product will slowly dissolve over time, you may need another non-surgical nose job treatment after about 18 months to two years, depending on how quickly your product dissolves. This will vary from person to person.

Will I have visible scars after my procedure?

A non-surgical nose job procedure performed with Volume Enhancement Treatments should not leave any scars at all, as the procedure involves using a fine needle and does not involve any incisions. In the rare occasion that any scars would be visible, it should be on the inside of the nostril, which would be completely hidden. With all treatments, doctors and nurses will aim to produce scar-free results.

How soon can I see the results of my nose procedure?

While results are instantaneous, it can take ten days to three weeks for final results to be visible as any slight swelling or bruising will have fully settled. Non surgical nose job procedure patients are some of the happiest and most satisfied patients as instant improvements can be seen and just a small amount of product in the nose can make a significant change. Of course, results will depend on the patient’s individual goals, and will therefore vary from person to person.
