A true non-surgical alternative to Rhinoplasty
A non-surgical nose surgery can bring aesthetic benefits and balance to a patient’s face. By camouflaging bumps or indentations in the nose, it creates a more symmetrical and appealing appearance. Also, correcting abnormalities in the shape of the nose often results in the nose shape appearing smaller. With a non-surgical nose job, injectable fillers can be used to form or correct the nasal bridge and nasal tip to create great results.
Some reasons for considering non-surgical nose reshaping, or injectable rhinoplasty, include:- Flat bridge correction: Dermal fillers can be used to create a subtle increase in height, such as by placing filler at the tip of the nose to create an appearance of a lift
- Symmetry correction: A slightly crooked or off-centred nose can be balanced in appearance with dermal fillers
- Camouflage: A bump or hook on the bridge of the nose can be augmented with fillers to create a straighter bridge
- Create Balance: The size of the nose in comparison with other facial features can be balanced by adding dermal fillers to increase nose size or to create the appearance of a smaller nose
- ‘Droopy’ nose tip correction: If the tip of the nose appears to droop downwards, filler can be applied to elevate the tip
- Rounded nose tip correction: Dermal fillers can change the appearance of a rounded nose tip if a more defined tip is desired
- Shape refinement: Following surgical rhinoplasty, the nose shape can be refined further by applying dermal fillers to achieve further improvements
- Other minor concerns: Dermal fillers can be used to achieve improvement in various nose aesthetic concerns
To find out if your concern can be improved with a nose dermal fillers procedure, we recommend booking a thorough consultation with one of our highly experienced nurses or doctors at Cosmos Clinic. Whether you are in Sydney, Cosmos’s collective experience of over 50 years will ensure that you can achieve the best results possible.
How a non surgical rhinoplasty procedure works
Non surgical rhinoplasty involves removing small bumps or adding volume to the nose without the need for surgical intervention. Dermal fillers are injected into the required areas, making subtle changes to the nose with very little downtime, minimal swelling, and instant results. A non-surgical nose job involves a few tiny injections of dermal filler into the deep layers of the nose (the perichondrium or the periosteum layers), that will be moved and shaped to create the desired appearance. The simple yet very effective procedure will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes and should be completely tolerable as a topical numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area. Nose reshaping treatments create long-lasting results, that can remain noticeable for 18 to 24 months.
Non surgical nose job costs
Non surgical nose job prices will vary, as costs will depend on your overall situation, your individual procedure details, and your expectations. Each patient will need different amounts of dermal filler to achieve their desired results, and the amount used will influence the costs of the treatment. To receive a personal quote for treatment costs that is tailored to your individual treatment needs, discuss your goals with a Cosmos Clinic nurse or doctor during your initial consultation. A non surgical rhinplasty procedure using dermal fillers will be cheaper than a traditional surgical rhinoplasty, however, additional treatments will be needed to maintain results in the long term. The dermal filler will naturally dissolve over time, and the rate at which this happens will vary from patient to patient. Usually, patients will need another treatment after about 18 to 24 months after their first procedure to refresh their results.
Suitable candidates for a nose fillers procedure
Good candidates for a non surgical rhinoplasty, are those who would like to make some adjustments to the shape of their nose to improve on aesthetic aspects such as flat bridge correction, symmetry improvement, camouflaging bumps, and other similar concerns that can be addressed with dermal fillers. An injectable rhinoplasty procedure can be a good choice for those who have had surgical rhinoplasty and would like to make a few further changes or minor improvements. It can also be a non-permanent solution for those who are hesitant to undergo a surgical rhinoplasty procedure, as it can give patients an idea of how results from permanent surgery may appear. However, some patients may not be suitable for nose job fillers, as health concerns such as allergies to certain medications may interfere with eligibility to undergo the procedure. Some patients may also find that the structure of their nose is not suitable for this particular procedure, for example, those who may have a very high dorsal hump that when treated with fillers can make the nose appear much larger. In this case, a surgical option might be more suitable. It will depend on your individual aesthetic characteristics and needs that you would like to address. The best way to determine your suitability for a nose reshaping procedure is to book a consultation at one of our Cosmos Clinic in Sydney and discuss your goals with one of our experienced team members.
Recovering from the non-surgical rhinoplasty procedure
The recovery period from non-surgical rhinoplasty is minimal and is often described as a procedure that has no downtime, allowing patients to walk out of the appointment and resume their usual daily routine. After the procedure you may experience some slight swelling or bruising which will go away very quickly. You will receive recovery care instructions that are tailored to your individual procedure details. Some post-procedure care instructions or recovery tips may include:
- Reducing swelling and bruising by applying cold compress such as an ice pack, or by applying topical creams
- If possible, avoid wearing glasses for about 48 hours to avoid applying pressure onto the nose area
- Wait 24 hours after treatment to wear makeup or to apply skincare products
- Take a break from vigorous exercise for 48 hours to allow any bruising to subside faster
- Try to stay out of the sun and places that can expose the nose area to high amounts of heat such as saunas for about a week
- Avoid pressing on or applying pressure to the nose area
Non-surgical nose job risks and side effects
Like with all procedures, the non-surgical nose job still carries some risks and the chance that complications could occur. This is why it is important to choose a clinic that has a team of knowledgeable and trained nurses and doctors who are highly experienced with injectable procedures. At Cosmos Clinic, we have a team with over 50 years of collective experience, and extensively trained nurses and doctors that specialise in injectables. Some minor side effects include swelling, bruising and tenderness, which should subside within a few days after treatment. In rare cases, injectables can affect the blood vessels that are present in the nose and around the nose area, which can lead to more significant complications. It is important to select a clinic with an experienced team to perform the treatment to minimise risks and raise the likelihood of achieving optimal results.
Frequently asked
Many patients with minor or less severe irregularities of the nose can achieve a more desirable nose appearance using a dermal filler injection, thus avoiding the need to undergo invasive surgery. A Non-Surgical Nose Job avoids the risks of surgery and has no effect on nasal breathing as it only involves the injection of a Dermal Filler into the skin.
The procedure is very precise (using small amounts of filler at a time), and detailed adjustments to the nasal contouring can be achieved.
