CoolSculpting Information

CoolSculpting is an FDA approved, non-surgical and non-invasive fat removal technique delivering results without the need for surgery. It is a fat reduction treatment that has been proven to effectively diminish the number of fat cells within visible fat bulges. It can treat areas such as the tummy, the hips, the waist, the legs, the back, the lower and upper arms, muffin tops, banana rolls and even double chins

Individual results may vary, but some patients may see improvements in the treated area after one treatment, with further potential improvements after 2-3 treatments. Results can be seen after 3 weeks, however final results are seen around 3 months post treatment.

THE PROCEDURE

Problem areas treated as you read a book or take a nap

After a consultation with our medical professionals, treatment areas will be selected. The vacuum applicator will be attached to the area being treated which delivers controlled cooling at the surface of the skin. As the panels go to work in the first few minutes, the patient feels a sensation of intense cold that soon dissipates.

This applicator remains attached for up to an hour. Many people spend this time reading, working on their laptop, or even taking a nap.

The technology behind CoolSculpting is based on science developed by Harvard University researchers. The breakthrough “fat freeze” treatment involves exposing fat cells to very low temperatures which crystallises stubborn fat cells which are then naturally processed and removed by your body’s immune system. CoolSculpting is a great option for targeting excess fat around your waist, tummy, inner thighs, outer thighs, love handles (muffin tops), back, lower and upper arms, chin/neck , knees, ankles, bra fat or any other area of fat that is hard to shed with diet and exercise.

POST TREATMENT

CoolSculpting is a walk-in, walk out treatment

Typically there is minimal discomfort and recovery time. Patients can resume their routine activities, including returning to work and exercise regimens on the same day as the procedure. Some people may experience temporary redness or numbness, as well as slight swelling and bruising in the treated area.

This non-invasive, fat reduction treatment utilities CoolSculpting technology so that the treated fat cells are eliminated permanently. As long as the patient maintains his or her weight with diet and exercise, long-term results and weight loss should remain stable.

Results can be seen as early as three weeks after the CoolSculpting procedure, but the most dramatic results will be seen in 1 – 3 months. The body will continue to naturally process the injured fat cells for approximately four months after your procedure. Typically, the procedure can reduce the fat layer by 20-40%.

Will I experience any pain?

You may experience a very mild discomfort at the start of the treatment, however in most cases it is painless. Unlike many other methods of fat reduction, CoolSculpting involves no needles and no surgery. The patient is seated comfortably or lying down during the procedure and will feel a sensation of pulling and intense coldness. This soon dissipates.

Am I a suitable candidate for CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a great alternative for those who do not want to undergo surgery, but who have stubborn pockets of fat which won’t go away with diet or exercise.

How many treatments will I need?

Most patients get excellent results from one treatment. However, you can choose to have multiple treatments in the same area. Subsequent treatments can be performed 4 weeks after your previous treatment, and you can have more than one area treated on the same day.

Are there any risks of complications?

CoolSculpting is a very safe procedure. Some people may experience temporary redness or numbness in the treated area, as well as some light swelling and bruising post-treatment.
