The number of men choosing to have cosmetic procedures is on the rise. In fact, in Australia men account for approximately 10% of all cosmetic procedures performed. The number of guys who have at some point considered fixing a cosmetic issue such as thinning hair, love handles or “man boobs” is even higher.
Why are increasing numbers of men open to having cosmetic procedures? Social media and the desire to look good have played a large role. Additionally, increased social acceptance to have a ‘little work done’ and wanting to feel more confident drives more and more men to visit a cosmetic practitioner.
Another factor is a shorter recovery period. Many procedures have less downtime now than they used to a decade ago. Depending on the treatment, patients can return to work within a week after surgery and sometimes even the same day with non-invasive treatments like PRP for hair loss.
At Cosmos Clinic we find that combining highly focused and personalised procedures can produce outstanding results for our patients. Here are some benefits of having male cosmetic enhancement:
Stubborn Fat Reduction
Removing unwanted pockets of fat with liposuction is the leading cosmetic procedure for men. It has been performed successfully for decades to contour popular body parts such as the stomach, back and flanks (love handles). Male breasts (man boobs) is another highly requested treatment area. Our highly skilled cosmetic practitioners are trained in the most advanced techniques to remove excess fat and glandular tissue to sculpt a more masculine looking chest shape.
More Sculpted and Fit Appearance
More options are available today to correct specific problem areas to enhance of a man’s physique. Liposuction techniques have evolved to the next level of precision. Vaser Hi Defintion Liposuction, for example, can chisel the stomach and flanks for improved definition and achieving the “six-pack” effect. Brazilian Butt Lift is another newcomer. It’s considered a safer option than silicone implants for buttock enhancement because the procedure uses one’s own fat to create a stronger, more lifted and defined back side.
Fuller Head of Hair
Thinning hair and hair loss is a source of stress for a lot of men. Traditionally the only remedy for treating balding was through hair transplants or Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT). Now we can offer men with thinning hair a better non-surgical method called Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). It’s clinically proven safe and extremely effective for male hair loss. Keep in mind that PRP requires viable hair follicles to be present as this procedure is not a cure for baldness but rather it increases the density and volume of existing hair.
