Neck Bands

Neck bands appear as a result of over-active neck muscles (the platysma). The over-active neck bands pull the jaw down and create the dreaded saggy jowl. To achieve skin tightening and less protrusion in this area, a non surgical procedure is required. This being the use of Muscles Relaxant Injections (also know as Wrinkle Reduction Treatments) to minimise the muscle size and the amount of wrinkling. It is important to note that a saggy jowl can also be caused by loose skin and droopy fat pads in the face.

The procedure is very simple, and there is minimal discomfort and no downtime. A series of tiny injections, are made in the necks muscles to achieve optimal neck rejuvenation. The injections contain a Muscle Relaxant that is effective in treating this problem area.

Treating these vertical bands can also be combined with treating the jaw line (a procedure known as the Nefertiti Lift). This will improve the appearance of the jowls and remove any unsightly neck bands. For this treatment, we can use Volume Enhancement Treatments (made up on hyaluronic acid) to mimic a surgical jowl lift.

Most patients tolerate the procedure extremely well, although there may be some minimal discomfort during the treatment – which is sometimes described as a minor sting.

Muscle Relaxant Injections is a walk in, walk out procedure. You will be able to return to your normal activities straight away. It is important to mention that post the treatment, you will be left with a few common side effects. You will have tiny marks, like mosquito bites, which will last for a few minutes.

Post the treatment, there is very little swelling and almost no bruising. The ice used before the treatment will also assist in constricting the blood vessels to further minimise bruising.

Results start to show at approximately 3 – 5 days post-treatment, with full effects evident at around 2 weeks (although this can vary from patient to patient).

Treatment of Neck Bands with Injectable Muscle Relaxants is safe when administered by a medical professional. No serious or long-term health hazards have been attributed to the use of Wrinkle Reduction Treatments, even after years of use and millions of injections.
