TREAT HAIR LOSS WITH REGENERA ACTIVA

    The Procedure Explained

What is a Regenera Activa hair loss treatment?

Regenera Activa is a non-surgical hair loss treatment option for reversing androgenic alopecia and reactivating existing hair follicles to produce new hair. During a Regenera Activa treatment, a cocktail of progenitor cells, growth factors, and stem cell precursors, are mobilised to boost micro-circulation, repair blood vessels, and revitalise shrinking existing hair follicles, to stimulate new hair growth.

Why choose to have a Regenera Activa treatment?

Until recently, the best treatment option for the most visibly effective results, was hair transplant surgery. Topical foam or cream options to stimulate hair regrowth, such as Minoxidil, have been available for years, with mixed results reported. Some individuals may start to notice changes in their scalp condition within two weeks after a Regenera Activa session. Furthermore, improvements continue for up to two years without another session being required. Other procedures such as PRP (platelet rich plasma), need multiple treatment sessions, and PRP doesn’t always work for everyone.

A Regenera Activa hair loss treatment involves extracting a small sample of the patient’s scalp tissue comfortably using local anaesthetic. The tissue samples are processed, to obtain regenerative cells, known as progenitor cells, which are then injected back into the thinning areas stimulating the growth of new healthy hair.

    • Clinical studies with proven results for the growth of new hair.
    • Excellent safety record.
    • No downtime in comparison to hair transplant surgery.
    • Short procedure length of around 30-45 minutes.

Who is the best candidate for a Regenera Activa hair loss treatment?

A Regenera Activa treatment is tailored for those diagnosed with androgenic alopecia, also called male pattern hair loss or female pattern hair loss. Individuals who don’t want to undergo hair transplant surgery, can instead choose to implant healthy new cells into the scalp, to increase their hair density and volume.

    • The individual can be any gender.
    • The diagnosis must confirm androgenetic alopecia.
    • The hair loss or hair thinning experienced, should be mild to moderate in nature.

Before opting for any treatment, it’s paramount to identify the cause of the hair loss. Once the hair loss cause is confirmed, a consultation can establish the most appropriate treatment can be chosen to either halt further hair loss or stimulate new hair growth. During this appointment, treatment options will be discussed, including the potential results that can be achieved, as well as any side effects or risks associated with each available procedure.

How much does a Regenera Activa treatment cost?

The cost of a single session for a Regenera Active hair restoration treatment starts from $2,500.

    Having the Procedure

    How does Regenera Activa work?

An innovative treatment for hair loss, Regenera Activa harnesses the body’s own regenerative abilities to produce hair regrowth and increase hair density on the scalp, with the following steps:

    • Sample Collection: A small skin sample from the back of the head is taken of the patient’s scalp tissue. This area is typically chosen because the hair follicles on the back of the head are generally more resistant to the hormonal changes that cause common pattern baldness and hair thinning.
    • Processing: The collected tissue samples are then processed in a specialised device. This breaks down the tissue to extract and concentrate the regenerative cells, growth factors, and other beneficial elements.
    • Injection: The concentrated solution, rich in regenerative properties, is then injected into the areas of the scalp where hair thinning, and hair loss is evident.

The regenerative cells and growth factors introduced to the scalp, stimulate dormant hair follicles and promote hair growth.

How is a Regenera Activa hair loss treatment performed?

During a Regenera Activa treatment for hair loss, a small sample of the patient’s scalp tissue is taken, typically from the back of the head. This sample is then processed to extract progenitor cells and growth factors, which are reintroduced into the areas of thinning and hair loss on the scalp. The reintroduction of these cells stimulates the follicles, promoting hair growth and improving hair density.

    • Harvesting the Graft Tissue: Under local anaesthesia, your doctor will take small biopsy samples (2.5mm diameter per sample) of your scalp skin tissue. This is a painless process and only feels like a slight pinching.
    • Processing the Regenerative Cells: The progenitor cells, concentrated growth factors, and stem cell precursors, are extracted from the samples and processed for implantation.
    • Transplanting the Regenerative Cells: The optimised tissue cells are injected into the areas of the scalp affected by hair loss and hair growth thinning.

Is there any downtime after having a Regenera Activa treatment?

After undergoing a Regenera Activa procedure, patients can generally expect minimal to no downtime. The treatment area may exhibit some redness, tenderness, or minor swelling, which typically subsides within a few days. It’s essential to follow the post-procedure aftercare instructions provided by the clinic, to ensure optimal results and recovery.

Normal daily activities can usually be resumed shortly after the treatment. To prevent discomfort or risk of infection, it’s best to refrain from washing your hair and scratching your scalp for at least 24 hours. Additionally, saunas, swimming pools, excessive sun exposure, and vigorous physical activities, should be avoided for the next 2-3 days.

Are there any side effects from having a Regenera Activa treatment?

Whilst it is considered a safe procedure, some patients may experience some minimal side effects. These may include temporary redness, swelling, or tenderness at the injection sites, which usually resolve within 24 hours following treatment.

When can you see the results from a Regenera Activa hair loss treatment?

The Regenera Activa procedure involves extracting a small sample of the patient’s scalp tissue, processing it to obtain regenerative cells, and then injecting these cells into areas of thinning hair. The autologous micro-grafts used, stimulate the follicles promoting hair growth.

You’ll be able to see a considerable reduction in hair loss 2-4 weeks after treatment. Better scalp coverage will happen gradually over the next few months. Patience is needed, however, because to achieve substantial increase in hair thickness, fullness and strength can take up to two years. After you’ve achieved optimum results, you may want to consider repeating the treatment 15-18 months after the first session, to maintain your new head of healthy hair growth.

What is the difference between Regenera Activa and hair transplant surgery?

Regenera Activa and hair transplant surgery are different approaches to treating hair loss, each with unique aspects. Regenera Active involves the extraction and implantation of progenitor cells, whereas hair transplant surgery extracts and implants hair follicles. Furthermore, the autologous micro-grafts and injection sites are hardly detectable with a Regenera Activa treatment, versus a hair transplant which requires shaving of the donor area, with the follicular implants obviously visible.

Regenera Activa is a non-surgical procedure with minimal downtime, that utilises the individual’s own cells, to stimulate the growth of new hair. It involves extracting a small sample of the patient’s scalp tissue, processing it to obtain regenerative cells, and then injecting these cells into areas of thinning hair. This method aims to rejuvenate the scalp and promote hair regrowth at a cellular level.

Hair transplant surgery involves the physical transplantation of hair follicles from one part of the scalp (usually the back or sides), to the areas of the scalp experiencing hair loss. This surgical procedure offers a more permanent solution to hair loss, and is suitable for those with significant balding or acute hair thinning.

The choice between these two treatment options, largely depends on the hair loss severity, desired results, and personal preferences of each individual patient.
