If you are concerned by the size of your breasts, Vaser liposuction breast reduction can reduce excess fat to relieve physical discomforts and create a more proportionate appearance. Â Liposuction offers an effective alternative to traditional breast reduction, and we offer this procedure at our five clinics in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Gold Coast and Canberra. Check out our before and after gallery of photos to see whether our doctor’s work appeals to your cosmetic goals.
At Cosmos Clinic, we offer Vaser liposuction as an alternative to a traditional breast reduction procedure. Instead of making a large incision and surgically excising excess skin, fat and tissue, this method uses liposuction techniques to gently remove unwanted fat from the breasts. As such, this procedure is best suited to women with fatty breasts, which is usually women aged over 35 or who are overweight. Compared to traditional breast reduction, Vaser liposuction offers faster recovery times and minimal scarring.
We use Vaser technology for all of our liposuction procedures. Vaser is the latest advancement in surgical liposuction and uses ultrasound energy to remove fat more effectively from the body. Your Vaser liposuction breast reduction will be performed under local anaesthesia and twilight sedation, although a general anaesthetic is available upon request. Once you are numb, your doctor will make a small incision in the breasts, through which the Vaser probe is inserted. Your doctor will do their best to make your incisions as inconspicuous as possible. The Vaser probe is then moved back and forth to heat and liquefy your unwanted fat cells. As the fatty tissue is broken apart, your doctor will use a cannula to vacuum it out of the breasts.
As Vaser liposuction breast reduction is a minimally invasive procedure, most patients can return home on the same day as surgery. While some mild pain and discomfort are only to be expected, your doctor will prescribe medications to relieve this. You will need to wear a compression garment for five to six weeks after surgery to reduce swelling and help the skin retract. However, most breast liposuction patients describe the recovery process as rather easy, and most can resume all regular activities within a week.
Within six weeks, you will begin to see the results of your Vaser liposuction breast reduction procedure. However, it may take up to six months for the skin to retract and the post-operative swelling to subside fully. Once your final results are visible, you can expect a more natural, proportionate breast size. Even better, your results are permanent: once the fat cells have been removed, they will never return to that area of the body.
However, the remaining fat cells can still increase in size, so it is still possible to gain weight, although more likely in other areas of the body. Regardless, we suggest waiting until you are close to your goal weight before opting for surgery and making healthy lifestyle changes to ensure that you can enjoy your results in the long term.
In the last ten years, the team at Cosmos Clinic have performed over 20,000 liposuction and fat transfer procedures. We were the first practice in New South Wales to use Vaser technology, and we now own more Vaser systems than anywhere else in the world.
Our team have over 50 years of collective experience, so you can trust us to achieve the body of your dreams. Get in touch today to book your consultation at Cosmos Clinic Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Gold Coast or Canberra.
