Buttocks overview
Patients who want to improve the size, shape or contours of their back side often turn to buttock augmentation, also called gluteal enhancement. In the past this was achieved by surgically implanting silicone material to improve the butt’s appearance. This technique carried certain risks, however, and safer procedures have been introduced recently such as the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) which uses one’s own fat and the minimally-invasive collagen or tissue-stimulating injections
The Benefits: Why Get Buttock Augmentation
The ageing process or significant weight loss can cause the buttocks to lose firmness, shape and take on a deflated appearance. Sometimes an unflattering butt shape is a matter of genetics, lack of exercise or natural asymmetry. In either case, butt augmentation can give patients a more attractive derrière and help them regain their self-confidence. Here are the top benefits of buttock augmentation
Give the Butt a More Lifted Appearance
Procedures such as the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) use your own fat to reshape the buttocks for a rounder and fuller appearance. Using fat cells from a donor site, surgeons can create a more lifted and youthful butt cheek profile that looks and feels very natural. For men, the BBL can create a more ‘square’ and masculine-looking buttocks that appear more toned and muscular
Add Volume to Create Improved Shape and Contour
BBL and tissue-stimulating injections can improve shape and contours of the buttocks by increasing volume. With collagen-stimulating injections, a small amount of volume is noticeable immediately; however, over time (usually several months) your body will generate collagen in the treatment area resulting in shapelier and fuller buttocks
Smooth Cellulite and Dimples
Some of our butt augmentation procedures have the added benefit of improving the appearance of cellulite in the treatment area. Bio-stimulating injections can strengthen underlying tissues that cause dimpling and puckering of the skin. Additionally, fat grafting can help fill and smooth the dimples that cause unsightly cellulite to improve the skin’s appearance
Fat Reduction for Slimmer Contours
During buttock augmentation your surgeon can incorporate Vaser Liposuction to precisely remove fat tissue that detracts from your body’s appearance and relocate it to another area. For example, fat from your ‘saddle bags’ can be used to augment the butt cheeks. Additionally, fat reduction can be performed as a stand-alone procedure for patients who simply want to slim down their backside
Why We Don’t Use Silicone Butt Implants
We don’t offer silicone butt implants because safer and less invasive alternative are available. Anytime a foreign material is introduced into the body there are certain risks of developing complications. With silicone specifically, there’s the risk of rupture or scar tissue around the implant. The implant can shift after some time, causing drooping or an asymmetrical appearance to the buttocks. With the availability of the Brazilian Butt Lift and collagen-stimulating injections, we can achieve the same or better results with a higher degree of safety and patient satisfaction
