THE RESULTS
A far less invasive alternative to a surgical facelift, face liposuction can effectively reduce signs of aging and restore a youthful appearance, eliminating unwanted fat deposits from the lower facial areas.
Delivering ultrasound energy, a small Vaser probe is inserted to destroy fat cells and contract collagen fibres, removing fat and tightening the skin in one treatment. Results from the procedure, often referred to as a Vaser facelift, include a more defined jawline, an improved overall facial shape and a reduced appearance of jowls.
After initial swelling has begun to subside, results will become visible, typically at around six weeks after the procedure.
THE PROCEDURE
At Cosmos Clinic Sydney, we use Vaser technology to perform our liposuction procedures, including the time-rewinding facial liposuction as an effective alternative to an invasive facelift.
Thanks to the less invasive nature of the Vaser liposuction procedure, patients will only require a gentle sedation with a local anaesthetic to numb the treatment area. Once the area has become completely numb, small incisions will be made in easily concealable areas such as behind the ear and under the neck. Using the tiny incisions, a Vaser probe that delivers ultrasound energy will be inserted and moved back and forth to heat the treatment area up to 38 to 40 degrees Celsius. The ultrasound energy will break down the stubborn fat cells, melting the fat to a liquid consistency, while the skin-tightening process is stimulated by contracting collagen fibres in the skin.
Efficient, powerful and comfortable, the procedure will only take about 30 to 60 minutes to perform, allowing you to return home on the same day.
Technologically advanced, Vaser liposuction technology innovatively uses ultrasound energy to melt stubborn fat cells for a gentler and easier removal. The method saves surrounding tissue from damage while the fat is being removed, which creates less pain for the patient, and allows for a faster recovery.

Locations available
Since the facial liposuction procedure is often regarded as a Vaser facelift, the procedure tends to be most popular for patients over the age of 40 who experience sagging skin and jowls. However, younger patients who have stubborn fat on their cheeks can also be good candidates for the lower face liposuction procedure. The simplest and most efficient way to determine your suitability for facial liposuction at Cosmos Clinic Sydney is to book a consultation with one of our experienced doctors.
A guide to what makes a suitable candidate for facial Vaser liposuction can be:
Costs for facial liposuction with Vaser technology will differ from patient to patient. Costs are calculated based on the necessary associated fees, and individual factors such as the total treatment time and number of areas treated. We understand that estimating costs is an important factor in your decision to have a facial liposuction procedure. Since treatment costs are influenced by individual factors, we recommend booking a consultation with one of our experienced doctors to receive a personalised quote. An important factor to keep in mind is that Vaser liposuction uses state-of-the-art technology, which can be reflected in the costs of treatment.
Costs for face liposuction at Cosmos Clinic Sydney start from $5,500
Your initial consultation will be between $120 to $330
As a general guide, costs of you face liposuction procedure with Vaser will be influenced by:
While treating the face with Vaser liposuction, patients may also wish to treat other areas of the body, such as the abdomen, thighs or arms. This will increase the costs of the treatment, however, it can reduce overall costs in the long-term if you want to undergo multiple procedures to treat additional areas. Treating multiple areas will also lengthen the procedure recovery time and list of recovery instructions, however, it can save you from the need to recover from multiple separate procedures to treat the areas separately.
If you are travelling to our Sydney location from overseas or interstate, we have set procedures in place to provide you with the necessary information and a quote that is tailored to your needs. Please contact us via the form at the end of this page, indicating your current location and attaching images of your desired treatment areas.
After your facial liposuction procedure, you can return home to begin to rest for your minimal recovery period. You might feel some pain and general discomfort, so pain medication can be prescribed for you, if you would like. Your post-procedure side effects such as swelling and pain should begin to subside within one week, allowing you to get back to work or your usual daily activities.
Your doctor will give you instructions to follow for an efficient recovery. Typically, you should follow these instructions:
Thanks to the gentler nature of the high-tech Vaser technology, less complications and risks tend to be associated with the procedure. However, no procedure is without risk, and there are still side effects to be aware of before undergoing the Vaser face liposuction procedure. Your Cosmos Clinic Sydney doctor will outline all of the associated risks during your consultation. In the meantime, a list of potential risks and complications can include:
To tighten the skin in the treatment areas, the Vaser ultrasound energy will contract collagen fibres and stimulate the collagen production process. Over time, the stimulated collagen will create firmer skin in place of the lose skin, conforming to a defined facial structure after the unwanted fat has been removed.
Results can be seen quite soon after the procedure, however, the expected swelling while the body is healing can interfere with the visibility of the results until it completely subsides. Most patients will begin to see results after one week, but generally, full results will become noticeable six months after the procedure. A gradual reveal of results is a sign that your body’s natural fat removing and collagen producing processes are taking place, as opposed to faster results from a much more invasive surgical procedure.
The Vaser liposuction method is designed to permanently destroy the targeted fat cells within the treated area. However, without following healthy lifestyle habits after your procedure, such as a good diet and exercise routine, the remaining fat cells can still expand and recreate the appearance of unwanted fat. As for aging skin, while the Vaser procedure can slow down the aging process, no procedure can stop the aging process entirely. Therefore, the appearance of sagging facial skin can still appear in the treated areas later in life. Following a great skincare routine can help you to maintain youthful and healthy skin, as well as receiving other treatments to reduce signs of aging.
Unwanted sagging of the skin below your chin, often called saggy jowls, can occur with age as fat pads from the cheeks move downwards, or as skin naturally loses collagen. The neck muscles can also become weaker, making the jowls appear saggy.
The facial liposuction procedure with Vaser follows the same method as liposuction that is focused on other areas of the body. However, one difference is that less fat is generally removed from the face than from other parts of the body. The amount of fat that will be removed will vary from patient to patient and will depend on each person’s desired results.
Your doctor will discuss specific preparation details with you during your consultation, so that you can effectively feel prepared for your procedure. Generally, patients are asked to:
Patients will require local anaesthetic and twilight sedation during the procedure, which is designed to completely numb the treated area. Vaser liposuction procedures should be tolerable, with minimal discomfort.
Since Vaser technology only requires small incisions in concealable areas to be made, any scarring that occurs should not be highly visible and should fade over time. However, scarring is a potential risk of any procedure that requires incisions. Your doctor will always aim to create results that are not interfered with the appearance of scarring.
