Liposuction is performed to acquire fat cells for the fat transfer. Results may vary.
Why choose buttock fat transfer in Canberra?
There are several reasons you may want to undergo the fat transfer to the buttocks. It’s possible for the buttocks to change shape or develop laxity due to aging, weight fluctuations or exercise habits. Buttock fat transfer surgery is designed to alter the appearance of the buttocks, and individual experiences with the procedure may vary.
Who is the best candidate for Fat Transfer Buttock Augmentation?
The ideal candidate is someone in good health, with realistic expectations, who would like long-lasting buttock augmentation without implants. It helps to have good skin tone around the buttocks and hips, as well as adequate fat stores in other areas to harvest for the fat transfer injections.
How is fat transfer to the buttocks performed?
There are four steps involved in Fat Transfer Buttock Augmentation surgery at Cosmos, Canberra:
What to expect after the procedure
Patients will need to avoid sitting directly on their buttocks for several weeks. Taking 10-14 days off work is recommended. The procedure may involve injecting a greater volume of fat to account for the natural absorption of some fat cells post-treatment. For this reason there will be considerable swelling before the final results are visible. Your doctor may also prescribe some medications post treatment to encourage proper healing.
How much does the procedure cost?
Fat transfer to the buttocks surgery costs will be determined by your individual goals and other factors.
I’m very thin and don’t have much fat. Can I still have the procedure?
A certain amount of body fat is required to carry out the fat transfer to the buttocks successfully. One option is to gain some weight (in a healthy way) until enough fat is available for harvesting. If gaining weight is not possible, you may want to consider other procedures such as buttock implants or non-surgical options.
Are results permanent?
Individual results may vary over time. Furthermore, the fat cells that have been removed via liposuction will not return to the area, and fat cells that survive transfer to the buttocks will remain permanently. Keep in mind, however, that weight gain or loss can affect long-term outcome. It’s recommended to maintain a healthy weight following surgery.
What is the difference between a buttock fat transfer and buttock implants?
Fat transfer to the buttocks surgery involves using your own fat to alter your proportions. Buttock implants, on the other hand, rely on materials such as silicone.
Buttock implants do have a place in aesthetic medicine, particularly if you’re thin and don’t have enough autologous fat. If you are considering buttock implants, however, some of the risks to consider include capsular contracture, implants moving and a higher risk for infection.
