Nurzhida Cortes-Bootes

Nurzhida Cortes-Bootes RN, was awarded an academic scholarship, graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Cebu Normal University, Philippines. Following graduation, Nurzhida worked in the Philippines, volunteering at a non-profit hospital treating multi-drug resistant tuberculosis, as well as a 500-bed tertiary level private hospital working in surgery, obstetrics, gynaecology, and paediatric nursing.

Relocating to Australia in 2013, Nurzhida transitioned into a perioperative career in Canberra, ACT. Throughout this period, Nurzhida worked in the Anaesthetic and Recovery departments, incorporating surgical specialties including but not limited to paediatrics, obstetrics, gynaecology, urology, neurology, orthopaedics, plastics, and cardiothoracic surgery. During her time in the ACT, Nurzhida moved through the ranks, advancing from after-hours team leader, theatre floor coordinator, to Level 3 perioperative team leader.

In December 2021, Nurzhida joined the team at Cosmos Aesthetics Gold Coast overseeing theatre and anaesthetic coordination. Her responsibilities within this role progressed to Nurse Unit Manager and Director of Nursing | QLD; preparing Cosmos Gold Coast Day Hospital to become a licensed and accredited facility, meeting the rigorous standards required to hold a QLD Day Hospital License, and to qualify for NSQHS Accreditation.
