At Cosmos Clinic we use top-of-the-line dermal fillers. They have a refined smooth texture, giving the injector greater control to create more natural-looking results. Our fillers are available in five different viscosity levels, allowing precise contouring of different areas of the face.
Dermal fillers come in two varieties: semi-permanent and temporary. Both can be used to restore volume and structure, giving the face a more youthful and contoured appearance. Temporary fillers are highly popular because they contain hyaluronic acid, a naturally-occurring sugar molecule that we have in our bodies. It can be used to lift sagging skin and revitalise areas such as cheeks, temples, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, chin, nose and jawline.
Why choose dermal fillers, Gold Coast?
Dermal filler injections are considered minimally-invasive and can be performed in less than an hour. This treatment is ideal for busy individuals or those who don’t want surgery. In just one visit – or a series of sessions – it’s possible to achieve profound facial lifting and contouring, helping to reverse the signs of aging and give patients back their confidence.
Additionally, hyaluronic acid injections today are highly sophisticated and can be used to sculpt and contour the face in ways that wasn’t possible before. There are soft fillers suitable for restoring volume under the eyes or denser products for lifting the cheeks or giving the chin and jawline structure and definition.
Who is the best candidate for dermal fillers?
Women and men of all ages have been getting dermal filler injections to look and feel better. You’re a good candidate if you’re in good health and would like to improve mild to moderate volume loss and skin sagging. Dermal fillers can also help to contour the face for improved symmetry and overall appearance. Typical areas for augmentation include the cheeks, nose chin and jawline.
How are dermal fillers performed?
Fillers can be injected with a needle or cannula (blunt tip needle), depending on the treatment area. It’s a quick outpatient procedure that can be performed in less than an hour. Your injector may apply a topical numbing agent to make the experience more comfortable. Furthermore, most hyaluronic acid fillers contain lidocaine, a local anesthetic that adds another level of comfort to the treatment.
What to expect post procedure
There may be some redness, swelling and possible bruising post procedure but most patients can return to work immediately after. Areas such as lips can swell considerably for the first 48 hours and return to normal in a couple of days. Bruising can be covered up with makeup if necessary. Results typically last 6-12 months and some can last up to 24 months. We recommend having maintenance treatment done every 10-12 months.
How much does the procedure cost?
Prices start from $350
Discounts are available for additional syringes
Initial consultation is between $120 – $150, redeemable upon treatment
How will my skin look after the filler is gone?
Your body will gradually absorb the hyaluronic acid over time and your skin will return to its previous appearance. To maintain the results of your filler treatment it’s best to have maintenance injections every 12-24 months.
What’s the difference between semi-permanent and temporary fillers?
Temporary hyaluronic acid dermal fillers work immediately to plump and contour the skin. They contain hyaluronic acid gel that gets injected under the skin and improvements are visible right away. Over time your body breaks down the HA molecules and your skin return to normal.
Semi-permanent fillers, or tissue stimulating injections, on the other hand, stimulate your skin to produce collagen. Over the course of several months the treatment can restore volume in your skin, smooth away wrinkles and improve your overall skin quality. Results typically last 18 months after which time more injections will be required.
What are the side-effects of dermal filler?
Most people tolerate dermal filler injections very well, even after many years of use. With any medical procedure, however, there are some temporary side-effects such as swelling, redness and bruising. These normally resolve after several hours or days.
It is possible to develop some rare complications such as infection or lumps (called granulomas) but this is very rare. The good news is if patients need to reverse the filler, it can be instantly dissolved with hyaluronidase.
