At Cosmos Clinic our patients can expect only the highest quality dermal fillers for facial rejuvenation. Fortunately, today’s high-tech fillers have a much smoother texture, giving injectors greater control and the ability to create beautiful, natural-looking results. Our fillers are available in five different levels of molecular weight and density. This allows for a highly customised approach to facial contouring.
Dermal fillers are made from a sugar molecule that occurs naturally in the body. This means they have the advantage of being completely reversible if necessary. It’s possible that too much product is injected or if a complication arises, the filler can be dissolved and corrected with ease. Our cosmetic clinic here in the Gold Coast, Australia uses fillers that contain a local anaesthetic to ensure a quicker and more comfortable treatment with less swelling. At Cosmos, your dermal fillers is always administered by the most qualified and experienced injectors.
During your initial consultation for dermal fillers Gold Coast, a fully trained cosmetic injector will help you determine which injectable procedure is right for you. They will also discuss your objectives and recommend a personalised treatment plan for your facial rejuvenation. Before treatment, a topical anaesthetic and/or an ice pack will be applied to numb the area for your comfort. Additionally, a local anaesthetic is incorporated into the dermal filler to minimise pain as the treatment continues.
Dermal fillers are best known for lip enhancement but can also be used to augment the chin, jawline, corners of the mouth, cheeks, smile lines, hollows under the eyes, and to smooth fine lines around the face. For more dramatic results we recommend treating multiple areas in one visit, a procedure known as a non-invasive face lift. Some lesser known areas that can be treated with dermal filler injections are depressed acne scars, aged hands and to reshape your nose.
Having an artistic eye is just as important as impeccable technique. That’s why at Cosmos Clinic, all our injectors are expertly trained and experienced in dermal filler injections. In fact, one of our medical professionals has been appointed as the Allergan National Trainer (a prestigious title held by less than 20 doctors nationwide).
We are proud to see many interstate as well as overseas patients each year at Cosmos Clinic. To ensure utmost professionalism and consistency, we have developed a set of procedures for our out-of-town patients. For those travelling to see us, we ask that you send images of the areas you wish to have treated, which Cosmos Clinic your prefer and where you are located. This will allow our staff to include all the necessary information as part of your personalised quote.
Having dermal fillers done is a quick ‘walk in, walk out’ outpatient procedure that takes 30-60 minutes. You’ll be able to resume your normal activities right away. Keep in mind that it’s perfectly normal to experience some minor and temporary side-effects after treatment. Slight redness, bruising, swelling and tenderness may occur for up to a week after your dermal filler appointment.
Results generally last anywhere between 6 – 24 months, depending on the filler and the areas of the face being treated. As a guide, dermal filler in more active areas (such as lips) will break down faster, whereas less active areas (such as the cheeks) will last longer. Additionally, results may vary from person to person. Overall, many of our patients are happy to discover that our dermal fillers last longer than those of our competitors.
*Results may vary from patient to patient.

Dermal fillers are used to add volume to various areas of the face. They can be used to correct fine lines, creases, scars, and loss of volume in the face. They can also be used to enhance your face, by adding volume to the lips, or cheeks. Dr. Kim can even use dermal fillers as a non-surgical way to straighten up crooked noses, flatten out nose bumps. or fix button noses.
Clients who are new to this area of cosmetics, sometimes think anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers are the same thing. This is not true. Anti-wrinkle injections, are used to relax the muscles in the face, smooth out fine wrinkles, and prevent further wrinkles from developing. Dermal fillers are used for deeper wrinkles, to fill in the creases, as well as shaping the face, plumping up lips, cheeks, eyes, and other areas.
No, not if you get your dermal filler treatment undertaken at Cosmos Clinic Gold Coast. We only use natural fillers, which are not permanent and can be easily dissolved if the look is not what you are after. We never over inject filler into patients, even if they ask. If Dr. Kim thinks it will look unnatural or fake, he simply won’t do it. The whole idea behind dermal fillers is to make you look younger, or improve your appearance, but still keep you looking like yourself, just a more youthful version.
By lifting various critical areas on the face, Dr. Kim can perform the true “liquid facelift”.
Dr. Kim or our nurses will discuss options with you, and will then give the injections. The procedure will take around 30 minutes, you will be able to go back to work immediately after the treatment. There is no need for pain relief, the needles we use are very fine, and most patients report either no discomfort or only a mild pinch feeling. You will notice immediate changes, however there will be some swelling for 1-2 days before final results are shown (* can vary from patient to patient).
For some types of fillers, the results will take a few weeks to materialise, as the natural processes take place and moisture is integrated into plump up the areas treated.
No. Dermal fillers are made from Hyaluronic Acid, which occurs naturally in your body. At Cosmos Clinic we have had no patients who have experienced any adverse side effects to dermal filler injections
As we age our skin loses natural volume, resulting in skin sagging, a hollowed appearance and wrinkles. Dermal Filler is made with a complex sugar molecule that we all have in our skin called hyaluronic acid. Injecting it under the dermis improves the skin’s appearance by attracting water to the treatment area. It restores fullness and firmness to areas affected by volume loss. By precisely administering dermal filler, injectors can rejuvenate key areas of the face such as the cheeks, tear troughs, jowls, marionette lines, nasolabial folds (frown lines), lips and lip lines.
Recent introduction of new high-tech dermal fillers means they’re much more effective at facial contouring as well. They can be used to sculpt the cheekbones, jawline and chin, fill in the temples and forehead, as well as for non-surgical rhinoplasty. Dermal Filler can also be used alongside anti-wrinkle injections to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. Getting dermal filler treatment is relatively simple and minimally-invasive. Downtime is minimal and results are instant.
Yes, dermal fillers can reverse volume loss and prevent wrinkles from getting worse.
Dermal fillers contain a gel that adds volume immediately to treatment areas. Collagen Stimulating Injections, on the other hand, promote the growth of your own collagen over time to restore volume.
Yes. Anti-wrinkles injections can be performed during the same visit as your dermal fillers. For other procedures such as laser or Microneedling, it’s best to do it before or wait two weeks after dermal filler treatment.
