Today's high-tech fillers have a smooth texture, giving the injector greater control and the ability to create natural-looking results. Our advanced fillers come in five different levels of molecular weight and density. This allows for a highly customised approach to facial contouring.
As we age our skin loses natural fat pads, collagen and bone tissue. This contributes to volume loss in the face and a sunken appearance associated with the aging process. Dermal fillers are injections contain hyaluronic acid, a naturally-occurring sugar molecule that we have in our bodies.
By targeting certain areas of the face, HA fillers can improve sagging skin and restore facial contours for a more youthful appearance. Typical treatment areas include the cheeks, temples, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, chin, nose and jawline.
Why choose dermal fillers, Canberra?
Dermal fillers have evolved considerable over the last decade. Today’s hyaluronic acid injections are highly specialised and can be used to sculpt and contour the face in ways that wasn’t possible before. Some are softer in texture and suitable for restoring volume under the eyes. Others are much denser and can be used for lifting the cheeks or giving the chin and jawline structure and definition.
The biggest advantage of of HA dermal fillers is their ability to rejuvenate the skin without surgery or downtime. In just one visit – or a series of sessions – patients can achieve profound facial lifting and contouring, helping to reverse the signs of aging and giving patients back their confidence.
Who is the best candidate for dermal fillers?
If you’re starting to notice mild to moderate volume loss and skin sagging, you may be a good candidate for dermal fillers. Also if you’d like to improve the shape of your nose or achieve a more chiseled jawline, fillers can be a great non-surgical option. Keep in mind that patients with considerable skin sagging and aging may require surgery to produce more dramatic and satisfactory results.
How are dermal fillers performed?
Fillers can be injected with a needle or cannula (blunt tip needle), depending on the treatment area. It’s a quick outpatient procedure that can be performed in less than an hour. Your injector may apply a topical numbing agent to make the experience more comfortable. Furthermore, most hyaluronic acid fillers contain lidocaine, a local anesthetic that adds another level of comfort to the treatment.
What to expect after the procedure
There may be some redness, swelling and possible bruising post procedure but most patients can return to work immediately after. Areas such as lips can swell considerably for the first 48 hours and return to normal in a couple of days. Bruising can be covered up with makeup if necessary. Results typically last 6-12 months and some can last up to 24 months. We recommend having maintenance treatment done every 10-12 months.
How much does the procedure cost?
Prices start from $350
Discounts are available for additional syringes
Initial consultation is between $120 – $150, redeemable upon treatment
How will my skin look after the filler is gone?
Your body will gradually absorb the hyaluronic acid over time and your skin will return to its previous appearance. To maintain the results of your filler treatment it’s best to have maintenance injections every 12-24 months.
What’s the difference between HA fillers and tissue stimulating injections?
Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers work immediately to plump and contour the skin. They are a made with a soft gel that gets injected under the skin and improvements are visible right away. Over time your body breaks down the HA molecules and your skin return to normal.
Tissue stimulating injections, on the other hand, stimulate your skin to produce collagen. Over the course of several months the treatment can restore volume in your skin, smooth away wrinkles and improve your overall skin quality. Results typically last 18 months after which time more injections will be required.
Are dermal fillers safe?
Yes dermal fillers are extremely safe. Since they contain hyaluronic acid, a substance that we naturally have in our skin and bodies, the chances of having an allergic reaction are very minimal. Most people tolerate dermal filler injections very well, even after many years of use.
Keep in mind that dermal filler injections can results in temporary side-effects such as swelling, redness and bruising. These normally resolve after several hours or days. It is possible to develop some rare complications such as lumps (called granulomas) but this is very rare. If patients need to reverse filler, it can be instantly dissolved with hyaluronidase.
