WHAT DOES A TEAR TROUGH TREATMENT INVOLVE

    Having the Procedure

Who is a good candidate for under eye volume treatment?

If you have concerns about a dark appearance under the eyes, a lack of volume, or fine lines beneath the eyes, then you may be a suitable candidate for under eye treatment. However, as with any non-surgical cosmetic treatment, there are some exceptions to this. Patients with very thin skin, deep tear troughs, excess loose skin, or excess fat tissue under the eyes, may not be suitable for a volume treatment. A good candidate for under eye treatment may include individuals experiencing the following:

    • Dark under-eyes: This may be genetic or can develop with age.
    • Volume Loss: Due to genetics, lifestyle choices, or simply as we begin to age, the fat pads under our eyes can diminish.
    • Realistic Result Expectations: It’s important to understand that while volume treatments can be a good choice for suitable candidates, a minimally invasive treatment won’t produce the same results as a surgical procedure like blepharoplasty.
    • Doesn’t Have Severe Eye Laxity:: Volume treatments are not the best solution for pronounced eye laxity. In some cases, surgery may be a more appropriate treatment choice
    • Over 18 Years Old: You must be at least 18 years old to have an under eye volume treatment at Cosmos Aesthetics.

How much do under eye Volume Enhancement Treatments cost in Sydney?

The cost of your Volume Treatment treatment will depend on various factors. At Cosmos Aesthetics Sydney, we recognise that every patient is different and will require a personalised treatment plan to address their concerns and reach their aesthetic goals using non-surgical treatments.

    • Prices start from $350 depending on individual needs.
    • Pricing reduces with each additional syringe.
    • Initial consultations can cost between $100-$150, redeemable upon treatment.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT TEAR TROUGH VOLUME TREATMENTS

    Understanding the Procedure

What can I expect during an under eye volume treatment?

When having an appointment at Cosmos Aesthetics Sydney NSW, your practitioner will examine the under eye skin area to ensure you are a candidate for tear trough volume treatments. During the treatment the following steps generally occur:

    • Consultation: The appointment typically begins with a consultation. The practitioner will discuss your concerns, assess the area, and determine if you’re a suitable candidate for the treatment.
    • Facial Analysis: The practitioner will analyse your face, focusing on the under eye area, to decide on the appropriate treatment approach and details.
    • Treatment: The exact treatment approaches will be discussed with you at your consultation.
    • Aftercare Instructions: Once the procedure is complete, your practitioner will provide specific aftercare instructions to help your recovery, including directions around avoiding strenuous activities, direct sun exposure, excessive heat, and refraining from touching the treated area for a certain period of time.
    • Follow Up: A follow up appointment a few weeks after the treatment to assess the results and determine if any further appointments are needed.

Is there any downtime after getting under eye volume treatment?

After receiving under eye volume treatment, most patients experience minimal downtime, with bruising and swelling being common. Potential post-treatment experiences to be aware of can include:

    • Swelling and Bruising: It’s common to have some swelling or bruising in the treated area. These effects typically subside within a few days but can last up to a week in some cases.
    • Mild Discomfort: Some patients might feel a bit of tenderness or discomfort in the treated area, which usually diminishes within a day or two.
    • Daily Activities: Most patients can resume their daily activities right after the treatment, but this will always depend on the individual.

Do tear trough volume treatments have any side effects?

Most Volume Treatment patients tolerate the treatment well. However, just like any other medical procedure, there are some temporary side effects to be aware of, such as swelling and redness, which usually subside within a few hours to days. Bruising is common in the delicate area under the eye, and if bruising occurs this can last a week or so, depending on the patient,

Lumps and skin infections are very rare, and in some even more rare cases, treatment may disrupt a blood vessel beneath the skin. This can block blood flow and lead to complications such as skin death and, in severe cases, blindness. When treating the delicate area under the eyes and to reduce the risk of serious complications occurring, we always recommend that you only use an experienced cosmetic practitioner at Cosmos Aesthetics Sydney.

What can I do if I feel like I need more under eye volume treatments?

Once any downtime has settled following the first appointment, the tear troughs can be reassessed around two weeks after the initial treatment.

What can I do if I don’t like the results from tear trough volume treatments?

If you don’t enjoy the changes produced from having filler in your under eye area, an enzyme called hyaluronidase can be injected to dissolve the filler, returning the area to its pre-treatment state. During your follow up appointment, you can discuss your options with your injector to determine the best course of action.

How long do the results from getting tear trough volume treatments last?

Individual results may differ, depending on the individual. Periodic touch up treatments can also help maintain and prolong the desired results in the under eye area.

Can I combine tear trough treatment with other volume treatments?

You can absolutely combine tear trough volume treatments with other cosmetic treatments. Additional cosmetic treatment options to add to your appointment and which may possibly be used in harmony with under eye volume treatment, including Wrinkle Treatments, jawline volume treatment, and cheek volume treatment.
