The best candidate for a Buttock Augmentation/ Lift are those who need shape and definition to their behind, and have reserves of fat elsewhere on their body; namely the abdomen, thighs or back. Complaints such as “my butt is too flat” or “I want a round and prominent butt” are good reasons for this procedure.

EVL is an acronym that stands for Expansion Vibration Lipofilling. It is a new, advanced technique of fat grafting that occurs during our Brazilian Butt Lift procedures. Simply put, fat grafting is the process of performing Vaser Liposuction to areas of the body where unwanted fat is present. These fat cells are then removed and transferred into the buttocks to augment or enhance its shape and size. EVL refers to a technique of fat grafting that involves expanding the tissue before reinjecting the fat. The technique basically inflates the recipient’s tissue while fat is being injected into the bottom to guarantee a more successful graft.

Essentially, fat can be extracted from anywhere on the body that it appears. Typical places include the abdomen, thighs and back. Other areas include the upper arms, hips or breasts. Ideally, good candidates for a Brazilian Butt Lift will have fat removed from the love handles and lower back to deliver a stunning ‘V’-shape from the back. This ‘V’ will also make the ‘S’ shape of the buttock more accentuated.

There are options for patients who don’t carry a lot of excess fat (or those who have undergone significant weight loss). The first is to gain weight (using a healthy approach) until there is enough fat that can be removed. The second is to be referred to a surgeon for buttock implants. However, fat injections provide the most natural results and carry a low risk of infection.

It is worth noting that with traditional Liposuction techniques, less than 50% of the fat extracted will survive the transfer process to the buttock. The surgical procedure is performed under deep sedation, so you will not feel any pain during the procedure. A general anaesthetic is available upon request. Pain relief is also provided postoperatively to minimise any discomfort.
