Khloé Kardashian shares her anti-aging tips

Khloé Kardashian is the reality star whose dewy skin everyone admires.  Love her or hate her, she credits her fresh, wrinkle-free appearance to three simple tips.  And while she has access to every luxury skincare treatments and plenty of beauty experts around the world, her secrets to her youthful looks are so basic and inexpensive we can all get on board.

1. Keep hydrated

“For me, ‘anti-aging’ is really all about hydration. Drinking lots of water is a must” says the reality star. Khloé is conscious about staying on top of her water intake throughout the day, and while she does find water “gets boring after a while” she’s found a solution.

Khloé uses an infuser water bottle to add some flavour to her H20. “While infused water has the benefit of being full of flavour, it also has very low to no calories, making it a very powerful tool in your efforts to lose weight and gain better health. Nutrients leak out of the fruit directly into the water”, the star shares with her Instagram followers.

2. Wear sunscreen everyday

The Kardashian is also a big fan of skin protection.  “I wear sunscreen every day, especially on my hands,” Khloé explained. “Hands are always out in the sun, so they age the most. I keep extra sunscreen in the glove boxes of all of my cars in case I forget. When the sun hits my hands while I’m driving, it reminds me to slather more on!!!”

3. Oil up

As part of her simple, inexpensive beauty routine, Khloé applies oil on her face every night.  “I love Bio-Oil and Vitamin E, and I just use Aquaphor on my eyes. All of this stuff is super cheap and can be found in any drug store”, she reveals.

Not everyone is blessed with Khloé Kardashian’s good skin

Unfortunately, not everyone is blessed with Khloé Kardashian’s good skin, or are in their early 30’s with still plenty of collagen and elastin!

Acne is the most common skin condition effecting Australians.  In fact, in Australia a staggering 85% of us will experience some form of acne in our lives.  This can often be left with unsightly scarring that can have a dramatic effect on a person’s self-esteem.

Living in the ‘sunny’ country, we’re also prone to sun-damage, broken capillaries and pigmentation that enhance the signs of aging.

Skin conditions like acne, rosacea and dermatitis have created a multi-billion-dollar pharmaceutical industry as sufferers search for a treatment with creams and prescription medication.  Often these treatments work in the short-term, but fail to provide long-term benefits.

Thankfully, advancements in the cosmetic surgery has resulted in many sufferers gaining desirable even toned skin.  These long-term improvements provide hope they too can have youthful, dewy skin like Khloé Kardashian.

Treatment for acne and scarring

Photodynamic therapy acne treatment for example, has been shown to be highly effective in treating the common skin condition.  A combined approach may also be beneficial by using skincare products with vitamin A, peels or microdermabrasion to clear dead skin cells, and lasers act to destroy bacteria.

Those suffering from acne scaring due to abnormal collagen production, can benefit from functional lasers, skin needling or Platelet Rich Plasma treatment. Dermal fillers can also be used to fill any pockets created as result of chronic acne.

Capillary, rosacea and pigmentation treatment

One of the most common skin complaints we see in the clinic is broken capillaries.  This is often due to prolonged sun exposure, rosacea, autoimmune disease, hereditary and in some cases overuse of cortisone cream.

We’ve found the most successful treatment of broken capillaries, pigmentation and rosacea, is with Sciton Broad Band Light laser.  This acts to destroy the broken blood vessels and provides a more even toned complexion.

Reducing signs of aging through cosmetic surgery

Even those without problematic skin conditions like broken capillaries or acne, can benefit from skin treatments to reduce the signs of aging.  There are many of us who grew up unaware of sun damage, or haven’t taken care of our skin during youth.  As a result, the skin can be dry, dull and uneven.

Facial peels and microdermabrasion are great options for those simply looking to freshen up their skin.  These are a relatively painless and cost effective treatments that can help polish and clean your skin.

We all desire healthy, youthful skin.  While a simply beauty regime like Khloé Kardashian’s may work for some (particularly those who are yet to experience aging problems), others need individually tailored treatment to help restore and support the skin.
