    THE PROCEDURE

What You Need to Know About Ultraformer

    What is Ultraformer III?

Ultraformer III uses high-frequency focused ultrasound (HIFU) energy to target specific layers of the skin. The treatment aims to support tissue repositioning and promote collagen growth, particularly in areas such as the neck, jowls, cheeks, or even the stomach.

    How does Ultraformer III work?

The device delivers precise ultrasound energy to different skin depths, including the dermal and SMAS (superficial muscular aponeurotic system) layers. This targeted energy heats the tissue to 60–70 degrees Celsius, leading to contraction of existing collagen fibres and stimulation of new collagen production over the following weeks and months.

    What Areas Can Be Treated?

Ultraformer is suitable for addressing various areas:

    • Face: Neck, jawline, and cheeks.
    • Body: Abdomen, arms, and other regions with mild to moderate laxity.

    Treatment Process and Duration

Ultraformer III treatment durations depending on the size of the area being treated. For larger areas like the full face or body, sessions typically take 45–60 minutes. Smaller, focused areas may only need 15–30 minutes. Most people follow a plan of two treatments spaced 3–6 months apart, with a yearly session to maintain the results.

    Suitability and Precautions

Ultraformer III may not be suitable for everyone. It’s not recommended for those who are pregnant, have facial implants, or any open wounds on the treatment area. To find out if this treatment is right for you, book a consultation with one of our experienced clinicians, who can guide you through your options and create a personalised plan.

How Much Does Ultraformer III Cost?

The cost of Ultraformer III treatments will depend on the size and location of the treatment area. For personalised pricing and treatment plans, please contact Cosmos Clinic to schedule a consultation.

    Post-Treatment Timeline & Potential Risks

    What to Expect Post-Treatment

    • No significant downtime is required.
    • Temporary redness may occur, subsiding within a few hours.
    • Minor bruising or tingling in the treated area may last a few days to weeks.
    • Results improve progressively, with optimal changes observed 6–12 weeks post-treatment.

    Potential Risks & Complications

While Ultraformer III is a non-surgical treatment with minimal downtime, there are still some potential risks and side effects to be aware of:

    • Redness and Swelling: Temporary redness and mild swelling in the treated area are common and usually subside within a few hours to a few days.
    • Bruising: Minor bruising may occur, particularly in sensitive areas, and typically resolves within a few days.
    • Tingling or Numbness: Some patients may experience a tingling sensation, dull ache, or slight numbness in the treatment area, which can persist for up to a few weeks.
    • Skin Sensitivity: The skin may feel tender or sensitive immediately after the procedure, but this usually resolves quickly.
    • Rare Risks: In very rare cases, patients may experience small burns, blistering, or uneven results. These risks are minimised when the treatment is performed by a trained professional.

To reduce the likelihood of side effects, it’s important to follow the pre- and post-treatment care instructions provided by your clinician. If you experience prolonged discomfort, severe swelling, or signs of infection, contact your doctor immediately.
