Unwanted fat on the arms can be difficult to remove with simply implementing weightlifting into your workout routine and by following a healthy diet alone. The fat can be quite stubborn, particularly under the arms, as the skin begins to sag with age and the fat can begin to move downwards. To target the unwanted fat in the arms, Cosmos Clinic offers Vaser liposuction and Vaser Hi Definition liposuction, gentler fat removal procedures than traditional liposuction methods. Arm liposuction with Vaser technology is a technologically advanced procedure, associated with minimal downtime, smooth and natural-looking results, and minimal scarring.

Vaser arm liposuction effectively removes unwanted fat in targeted areas, while Vaser Hi Def arm liposuction goes one step further, using finer attention to detail to create more muscular and defined triceps and biceps. Both procedures work by using ultrasound energy to break down the stubborn fat before it is removed, allowing for a gentler removal process when suctioned out with a small cannula. As an added bonus, the ultrasound energy stimulates the collagen fibres in the skin, causing the skin to tighten and retract to the new arm shape. This reduces the risk of excess skin being left behind after the procedure and supports the most natural-looking results.
The Vaser liposuction procedure has many benefits. The method of breaking down the stubborn fat before removal creates smooth, even results, preventing lumps and bumps that are an associated risk with traditional liposuction. Recovery time is minimal, lasting about four to seven days and with the required wear of a liposuction compression garment for three to six weeks. The procedure only requires small incisions, minimising the risk of scarring. Results can be seen in as little as six weeks, with continual improvements in the appearance of the arms becoming visible over three to six months.
Since the procedure is less invasive than traditional liposuction, arm liposuction with Vaser technology can be performed under twilight sedation and local anaesthetic, a gentler form of sedation than general anaesthesia. However, general anaesthesia is still available, if patients would prefer. As well as the arms, patients can treat other areas of the body in one procedure and achieve a bigger difference in their overall appearance.
Good candidates for an arm liposuction procedure are those who are struggling to remove unwanted fat from the arms, usually around the bicep or under the arms. The procedure is suitable for those who have good skin elasticity, are in good physical and mental health, have minimal body fat overall and are already at or close to their ideal weight. However, patients do not have to already be in perfect shape before undergoing the procedure, as Vaser liposuction can be performed on all body types.
After arm liposuction, patients will notice slimmer and more toned, defined arms, with the added benefit of tighter and firmer skin around the arms. Optimal results can be seen after just one procedure, depending on the amount of fat that has been removed. Arm liposuction can raise confidence levels in a patient’s appearance and restore a sense of comfort in their own skin.
