To optimise healing and achieve the best outcomes, the following recovery measures are recommended:

Compression Garments: These must be worn for six weeks—three weeks full-time and three weeks part-time—to help reduce swelling and support skin contraction.
Lymphatic Massages: Regular follow-up massages are advised, typically twice a week for two weeks, to promote recovery and reduce swelling.
Rest and Nutrition: Ensure adequate rest, maintain a healthy diet, and listen to your body as it recovers.

How do I prepare for my procedure?

During your consultation, your doctor will give you specific pre-operative instructions. To avoid surgical complications and ensure a speedy recovery, you must quit smoking at least two weeks before surgery, and your doctor may ask you to avoid certain medications and supplements. We also recommend that you prepare for recovery by purchasing comfortable clothes, preparing some healthy meals and filling any required prescriptions. You will also need to arrange for somebody to pick you up from the hospital and help around the house for the first few days after the procedure.

Is Vaser liposuction painful?

You should not feel any pain during your Vaser liposuction procedure, as you will be under twilight sedation and local anaesthesia. If you do experience any discomfort during recovery, you can alleviate this with medications prescribed by your doctor.

Are the results of my liposuction procedure permanent?

Once your doctor has removed the fat cells from your body, they are permanently gone. However, you can still gain weight after male liposuction, as the remaining fat cells can grow in size.
