Today's advanced fillers have a smooth texture, giving the injector greater control and the ability to create natural-looking results. Our advanced fillers come in five different levels of viscosity. This allows for a highly customised and precise approach to facial contouring and reversing the ageing process.
As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat, collagen and bone. Over time we can develop sagging skin, loss of facial contours, wrinkles and hollowness. Dermal fillers can restore volume and plumpness to the skin, as well as to minimise lines and wrinkles. Below are some of the ways fillers can enhance your appearance:
Improve facial contours
Add volume and definition to lips
Fill in hollow or sunken tear troughs
Soften lines, folds and creases
Improve the appearance of scars
Correct facial asymmetry
Why choose dermal fillers, Melbourne?
Dermal filler treatment is a quick outpatient procedure that can be performed during your lunch hour. It’s ideal for busy individuals or those who are not ready for surgery. In just one visit to your cosmetic doctor – or a series of sessions – you can achieve profound facial lifting and contouring, reversing the signs of aging and gaining back your confidence.
Who is the best candidate for dermal fillers?
People of all ages are considered good candidates for dermal filler. If you’re experiencing any of the conditions below you may benefit from filler injections:
Loss of volume and structure in the face
Sunken appearance under the eyes
Lines around the mouth (nasolabial folds)
Lines running down the chin corners (marionette lines)
Uneven, thin or aging lips or mouth
Receding chin or jawline
How are dermal fillers performed?
Fillers can be injected with a needle or cannula (blunt tip needle), depending on the treatment area. Your injector may apply a topical numbing agent first to make the experience more comfortable. Furthermore, most hyaluronic acid fillers contain lidocaine, a local anesthetic that adds another level of comfort to the treatment.
What to expect post procedure
There may be some redness, swelling and possible bruising post procedure but most patients can return to work immediately after. Areas such as lips can swell considerably for the first 48 hours and return to normal in a couple of days. Bruising can be covered up with makeup if necessary. Results typically last 6-12 months and some can last up to 24 months. We recommend having maintenance treatment done every 10-12 months.
How much does the procedure cost?
Prices start from $350
Discounts are available for additional syringes
Initial consultation is between $120 – $150, redeemable upon treatment
What’s the difference between semi-permanent and temporary fillers?
Temporary hyaluronic acid dermal fillers work immediately to plump and contour the skin. They contain hyaluronic acid gel that gets injected under the skin and improvements are visible right away. Over time your body breaks down the HA molecules and your skin return to normal.
Semi-permanent fillers, or tissue stimulating injections, on the other hand, stimulate your skin to produce collagen. Over the course of several months the treatment can restore volume in your skin, smooth away wrinkles and improve your overall skin quality. Results typically last 18 months after which time more injections will be required.
Will I look fake or unnatural?
The goal of any injector is to enhance your natural features without altering your appearance. Cosmetic physicians these days are well-versed in the most advanced techniques and methods to contour your face and reverse the signs of aging.
What are the side-effects of dermal filler?
Most people tolerate dermal filler injections very well, even after many years of use. With any medical procedure, however, there are some temporary side-effects such as swelling, redness and bruising. These normally resolve after several hours or days.
It is possible to develop some rare complications such as infection or lumps (called granulomas) but this is very rare. The good news is if patients need to reverse the filler, it can be instantly dissolved with hyaluronidase.
