Vaser Liposuction is a body contouring procedure for suitable candidates to reduce the amount of fat cells and remove unwanted pockets of fat from the waistline area, commonly called the flanks/love handles.
Deciding to undergo liposuction for body contouring is an important decision to make, and one which should never be made lightly. Individuals contemplating having Flanks/Love Handles Liposuction must always maintain realistic expectations, and be committed to adhering to the aftercare requirements following surgery.
It’s essential to understand that all cosmetic surgery, including liposuction on the flanks/love handles, are invasive procedures. Liposuction treatments come with inherent risks, side effects, and possible complications, some of which can end up being permanent.
Detailed procedure information about Vaser Flanks/Love Handles Liposuction will be given to you by the doctor and thoroughly discussed during your initial consultations. It’s imperative that all patients are aware of the potential risks, side effects, and complications associated with the surgery. It’s also crucial to understand that liposuction is designed for fat removal and is not a weight loss procedure.
Before choosing to have liposuction surgery, patients must also be aware that the experiences and results of one individual, does not reflect or guarantee the results another individual may achieve. Liposuction before and after results will vary.
At Cosmos Aesthetics we use Vaser Liposuction for all our liposuction surgeries. Vaser Flanks/Love Handles Liposuction employs ultrasound technology to target and liquefy stubborn fat deposits in specific body areas. During the procedure, patients are given IV sedation (either twilight anaesthesia or general anaesthetic) in combination with a local anaesthetic numbing solution in each area of the body being treated. Small incisions are made, through which a cannula is introduced to break down and prepare the excess fat for removal. The fatty tissue is then suctioned out of the body through the same small incision sites.
The ultrasound technique used with Vaser Liposuction, not only aids in removing unwanted fat, but can additionally promote skin tightening in the treatment areas. It’s also not just used on the waistline, good candidates with stubborn fat can have Vaser Lipo on other suitable areas of the body including the stomach, thighs, and lower back.
Understanding that all liposuction treatments are surgical procedures, and all surgery comes with inherent risks and side effects, is non-negotiable. Results vary among individuals due to various factors, and no specific result outcomes can be guaranteed.
During your initial consultations, the doctor will outline your expected recovery time period and set expectations for the healing process after Vaser Lipo. You’ll receive post-procedure aftercare instructions on wearing compression garments, handling any potential pain and nausea, and conducting daily lymphatic drainage massages on yourself. Hard copies of the aftercare information will also be provided to you.
It’s important to always remember that Flanks/Love Handles Liposuction is an invasive surgical procedure. After having Vaser Lipo you’ll need to wear compression garments for a minimum of six weeks: three weeks full-time and three weeks part-time. To assist you with a smooth recovery and to support your healing, attending all scheduled follow up appointments is vital.
Not all individuals considering cosmetic surgery to remove unwanted fat from their flanks/love handles are good candidates for a liposuction procedure. The doctor will determine your suitability for surgery during the initial consultations. Factors such as having good skin elasticity, maintaining a healthy lifestyle including a healthy diet and regular exercise, as well as having realistic expectations about the potential body shape changes achieved with surgery, will all be considered.
Patients deemed unsuitable for liposuction, may be referred to a plastic surgeon to explore alternative plastic surgery options, such as a body lift or an extended tummy tuck (abdominoplasty).
Vaser Liposuction isn’t a one-price-fits-all treatment, and liposuction costs vary from patient to patient due to many factors. Each individual has unique surgical needs and personal circumstances which affects the overall price of the procedure.
At Cosmos Aesthetics, Flanks/Love Handles Liposuction will always start from a minimum base price of $5,500 for the first area. Additional areas are charged at a reduced rate depending on the size, starting from a minimum $2,000 per area. However, these prices are just a starting point to provide a general pricing guide, and are not to be seen as or presumed to be an exact quote.
During your initial consultations with the doctor, you’ll receive a detailed breakdown of all your liposuction costs. This exact quote will include fees such as your level of sedation (twilight anaesthesia or general anaesthetic), compression garments, and any hospital or facility charges if applicable to you.
