Vaser Hi Def Liposuction, also known as hi-definition liposuction, hi-definition liposculpture, or hi-def lipo, is a minimally-invasive surgical procedure that involves targeting fat tissue in specific parts of the body.
VASER is an acronym for vibration amplification of sound energy at resonance. The technology uses ultrasound waves to gently break down localised fat cells.
The goal of the treatment is to strategically suction away fat from deeper layers while leaving behind a thin cover of adipose tissue over underlying muscles.
This ultrasound-assisted technique is designed to liquefy fat while aiming to minimise damage to other tissues, though individual experiences may vary. This results in less bleeding.1 Furthermore, studies show that Vaser produces superior tissue retraction.2 This means the treatment may be suitable for patients with mild skin laxity.
Both traditional liposuction and Vaser HD procedures are designed for the same purpose, which is to target unwanted fat deposits, but Vaser provides a more advanced method.
The three main differences are offered with this method:
As a more advanced form of Vaser technology, Vaser High Definition liposuction is designed with the aim of increased precision. This helps minimise damage to the surrounding tissue.
Vaser Hi Def Liposuction at Cosmos Aesthetics Gold Coast may be suitable for individuals who maintain a normal body weight and have a regular diet and exercise routine. However, suitability for the procedure varies among individuals. Being healthy overall, with good muscle and skin tone will likely help your suitability. It’s important to realise that liposuction is not intended as a weight loss tool.
Good candidates are those who:
Often, the Vaser Hi Def technology is more suitable for men than women, depending on patient preferences, due to its emphasis on muscle definition. To read more about this, have a look at our Vaser Liposuction vs. Vaser High Definition Liposuction article.
After treatment, it’s normal for patients to experience some minor swelling and bruising. Your doctor will prescribe medication to control pain and discomfort after the procedure. The use of compression garments can help with healing. Drainage tubes may be inserted into the treatment areas to collect fluids for the first three to five days after treatment.
Most patients are able to return to work and other regular activities after one week. Strenuous exercise and other activities are not recommended and best avoided for two to three weeks after treatment, and we recommend checking with your doctor that you are ready to resume weight training before you do so.
Swelling will continue to decrease, and skin will continue to retract up to six months after surgery. Therefore, it can take up to four to six months to notice your final results from the procedure. Some patients may need an additional procedure to further enhance their results after six months. Scars will usually heal and become less noticeable over time; however, they may not disappear completely.
During your recovery, you will need to take care of your surgical sites, remember to attend any follow-up appointments, and optimise your health. Following a healthy diet, staying hydrated and making sure that you are getting enough rest will support your recovery.
Vaser High Definition liposuction costs will vary from patient to patient. Since the Vaser technology is a more advanced method of liposuction than traditional methods, costs for the procedure will be higher.
Vaser High Definition liposuction starting prices:
Each patient is unique and will have different goals for the procedure, which will influence the details of the procedure. These details will determine the costs and can be discussed during your consultation. Your total procedure costs are calculated based on your:
In one procedure, multiple areas of the body can be treated, which can lower the costs of multiple procedures that would only target one treatment area each time. Each treatment area will influence the procedure costs, however, treating multiple areas in one procedure as opposed to many single procedures can reduce the overall costs. Treating multiple areas together will mean that you will only have one recovery period.
Additionally, other details of your procedure will also influence your total costs. These details may include the anaesthesia fees, the amount of fat that will be removed, and the procedure time.
The best, most accurate, and personalised way to determine your costs for Vaser High Definition liposuction is to book a consultation at Cosmos Aesthetics in the Gold Coast. Your treatment areas, individual characteristic, goals, chosen type of anaesthesia, and estimated procedure time can all be considered during your consultation, enabling us to provide you with a quote. Your consultation is a great opportunity to ask any questions and discuss any concerns. You will be provided with information on preparation, recovery, and the specifics of the procedure, so that you can feel prepared and ready for your procedure.
The most common areas that patients choose to contour are the stomach, chest, back, and arms. The other treatable areas include:
As the healing progresses over the next several weeks, the results should start to gradually appear. Timelines may vary between patients.
When fat cells are removed via liposuction, they do not return. However, if a substantial amount of weight is gained following the procedure, the treatment areas (along with other parts of the body) may be altered.
All surgery carries some risk. Your doctor will go over all the possible side-effects, including: infection, scars, allergic reactions, swelling, bruising or unsatisfactory outcome. You can minimise your risk of complications by choosing a qualified and experienced doctor.
We’ll give you some important preparation instructions during your consultation, but generally, you will want to follow a healthy diet and stay hydrated in the days leading up to your procedure. If you smoke, you’ll likely be asked to quit for about two weeks before your procedure, as smoking can hinder your body’s natural healing process after your treatment. If you’re taking certain medication that might impact your healing, you may be asked to stop taking it for a specified amount of time before and after your procedure. This may include certain supplements. To feel organised and ready for your recovery period, you should check that you have comfortable clothing, healthy food, and any medication that you will need. If you think you might need some help around the house after your procedure, it is a good idea to arrange someone to help you before your procedure date.
The team at Cosmos Aesthetics Gold Coast are committed to providing positive patient experiences. We have performed over 20,000 liposuction and fat transfer procedures across more than 10 years.
