Thinking about booking a consultation for facial volume loss or asymmetry concerns? Here are the questions most commonly raised—and the answers you will receive in person from an AHPRA-registered medical practitioner at Cosmos Clinic Sydney.
1. Which regions can be assessed?
During your consultation the clinician may evaluate:
• peri-oral lines, marionette folds, oral commissures
• mid-face volume loss (cheeks, tear-trough)
• nasal bridge symmetry or minor dorsal irregularities
• chin projection and pre-jowl sulcus
• jaw-line continuity and lower-face gravitational changes
• acne-scar troughs or other localised depressions.
2. What are my treatment options?
All treatment options will be discussed to determine which may be right for you, and may include non-surgical, surgical, energy-based and topical options.
3. Are side-effects common?
Side effects vary depending on the type of treatment and area being treated, but often include transient bruising, swelling, erythema and tenderness. Less common events—vascular compromise, nodules, delayed-onset inflammation may occur with some treatment options and are discussed verbally and in writing during consent. Immediate contact details for a 24-hour on-call clinician are provided at discharge.
4. How long will the effect last?
Longevity of the treatment is variable and can be influenced by anatomical region, your metabolism and lifestyle factors. No guarantee of duration can be given; maintenance requires separate re-assessment and re-consultation.
5. Will it hurt?
Various methods of pain management can be employed depending on the treatment, including topical pain relief and medications which will be discussed with you at your consult.
6. How long is the consultation appointment?
Consultation: 30–45 min.
7. What does it cost?
Fees are discussed face-to-face only and documented in your quote. An initial consultation fee applies.
