Tighten the skin and melt the excess fat in the neck with a procedure that is minimally invasive and can effectively treat the dreaded turkey neck and stubborn double chin. This is an alternative to a neck lift surgery known as iGuide Neck Lift if you have excessive amounts of loose skin around the neck.
The Neck Lift with Liposuction is a non-surgical approach to treating submental fullness (also known as the double chin) and tightening loose, hanging skin some people may refer to as the “turkey neck.” It involves inserting a small ultrasound-emitting probe under the skin to liquefy fat cells and achieve skin retraction. The fat is then suctioned away to reveal a slimmer neck and chin. Many patients pleasantly discover that enough skin tightening is achieved that a fully-invasive surgical neck lift avoided.
Why choose the Neck Lift with Liposuction, Canberra?
Many patients would rather not deal with the lengthy recovery period and possible complications of surgery. The biggest benefit of the Neck Lift with Liposuction is that it’s minimally-invasive, relatively quick (60 minutes or less) and can be performed using only twilight sedation and local anaesthetic.
This means the risks of experiencing possible side-effects is considerably lower than with surgery. The treatment is ideal for patients who would like to improve the appearance of the neck and jawline with little downtime and without being subjected to general anaesthesia.
Who is the best candidate for Neck Lift with Liposuction?
If you’re struggling with stubborn fat and mild skin laxity under the chin and jawline area, then you would be considered an excellent candidate for the Neck Lift with Liposuction. Medically, you would be cleared for treatment if you don’t have any serious health conditions and lead an active lifestyle.
How is the Neck Lift with Liposuction performed?
The procedure is performed using advanced new technology which involves inserting a very thin probe under the skin to liquefy fat cells and tighten the skin. The broken down fatty deposits are then gently removed using power assisted liposuction. Since patients are not placed under general anaesthesia, medications and local anaesthetic are given to control pain and discomfort, and to help patients stay relaxed during the treatment.
What can I expect after the procedure?
You’ll be required to wear a compression garment immediately after surgery to minimise swelling, promote blood circulation, as well as to assist with the healing process. It’s normal to experience some swelling but the downtime is minimal and patients can typically return to work after one week (rigorous exercise should be avoided for a few weeks). Improvements in facial contours and skin quality will occur gradually over the next 6-12 weeks post-surgery.
How much does the procedure cost?
Neck Lift prices start from $4,400
Initial consultation is between $120 – $330
I’m a man. How should I prepare?
There is no special preparation required before your neck liposuction. We only ask that you shave your chin and neck on the day of the procedure. Shaving will ensure that the surgical area is clean and easy to maintain post-treatment. If you like, you can shave your face approximately five days post-procedure, taking care around the incision sites and sutures.
Can other surgical procedures be performed at the same time?
Absolutely! The Neck Lift with Liposuction can be performed on the same day as liposuction in other areas of the body, for example. It can also accompany surgical procedures such as a face lift, breast surgery or tummy tuck. We recommend booking a consultation with a liposuction expert to discuss which combination of procedures are best for you.
Will there be swelling and bruising?
Yes it’s normal to experience some swelling after neck liposuction for up to two weeks. Bruising is also possible but doesn’t happen to everybody. Some patient experience no bruising at all while others have significant bruising in the treatment areas. Most swelling and bruising should be resolved 6-8 weeks after the procedure.
