What is Vaser liposuction technology?

Vaser liposuction is designed with highly advanced technology and an innovative, gentler method of liposuction than other methods. Vaser incorporates ultrasound energy to break down the stubborn fat cells in the treatment area before the fat is suctioned out. The method of melting the fat first will prevent harm to surrounding tissues in the treated area, unlike traditional liposuction methods in which the fat had to be more invasively taken out of the area and would sometimes leave lumpy or uneven results. With Vaser, the heat from the ultrasound energy also works to tighten the skin in the treated area, as it stimulates collagen production.

What will happen to the skin in the treated area after cheek liposuction?

During the cheek liposuction procedure with Vaser, collagen production is stimulated which causes the skin to tighten in the treated area, naturally conforming to the new face shape.

Who is not a good candidate for the procedure?

If you are very thin and do not have very much fat in your cheeks, cheek liposuction is likely not a good option for you. Smokers, individuals with certain health conditions, and those who may not hold realistic expectations as to what can be achieved with Vaser cheek liposuction may also not be considered as good candidates. When will I have my results?

Patients can see immediate results but swelling will need to fully subside before the full results can be noticeable. Results are usually fully developed at six months after the procedure.

Are liposuction results permanent?

To ensure the permanency of the desired results, patients will need to stay at a stable weight and prevent significant weight gain after the procedure, as weight gain can expand the remaining fat cells in the treated area. How is cheek liposuction different from buccal fat removal?

Both buccal fat pad removal, or buccal lipectomy, and cheek liposuction procedures are designed to remove chubby cheeks. However, buccal fat pad removal is performed on the inside of the mouth, while cheek liposuction is performed using incisions on the outside if the face to remove the unwanted fat using a cannula and vacuum device.

Is cheek lipo the same as body lipo?

Cheek liposuction and body liposuction are the same, while cheek liposuction usually requires the removal of less fat than body liposuction.

What should I do to prepare for my procedure?
