FAQS

Neck Lift

Neck Liposuction/Lift

  • What is a Neck Liposuction/Lift?
    • Neck Liposuction/Lift involves the insertion of a fine ultrasound probe under the skin. The Vaser probe uses an ultrasound to melt fat cells and tighten the collagen fibres resulting in an improvement in the neck area.

The major advantage of this Neck Liposuction/Lift treatment is that it eliminates fat deposits whilst tightening your skin at the same time.

  • The procedure. What does it involve?
    • This new technology involves the use of an ultra-thin fibre that is placed just below the surface of the skin. The laser energy heats up the all-important “collagen and elastin” fibres causing them to contract, whilst melting small fatty deposits. Results continue to improve over the following 6 to 12 weeks. You will see significant improvement to the overall skin quality without the need to cut skin off.

  • What can I expect after the procedure?
    • Neck Liposuction/Lift takes about 1 hour and is carried out under twilight sedation. Consequently, it is considered a safe procedure with minimal side effects.

After the treatment, patients can usually get back to their routine activities within a day or two. You will have swelling for about 3 to 7 days with minimal bruising, although this may vary from patient to patient.

You will need to wear a garment for 3 days full time and then another 7 days part time.

  • Results. What and when can I expect them?
    • Results are generally seen after 6 weeks, once all swelling has subsided.

  • Are there any risks of complications?
    • There are inherent risks and complications as there are with any surgery. You should be aware of the potential risks and discuss any concerns you may have with your doctor before your surgery is performed.

  • Which clinics can I undertake the procedure?
    • Your initial Neck Liposuction/Lift consultation and subsequent procedure can be undertaken at one of our cosmetic clinics in Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide or the Gold Coast.
