FAQS

  • What is Surgical Nose Reshaping or Rhinoplasty?
    • A Nose Job, also known as Nose Reshaping or Rhinoplasty, is a plastic surgery procedure performed to change the shape, size, width or profile of the nose.

  • What are common reasons for undertaking Rhinoplasty?
    • Some of the reasons for considering nose surgery include improvements to:

      • Nose size, in relation to other facial structures
      • Nose width, at the bridge
      • Nose profile, with visible humps or depressions on the bridge
      • Nasal tip, that is large or bulbous, drooping or too upturned
      • Nostrils that are large, wide or upturned
      • Nasal asymmetry and deviation
  • When is it more appropriate to undergo a non-surgical nose job than a surgical approach?
    • Many patients with minor or less severe irregularities of the nose can achieve a more desirable nose appearance using Dermal Filler injections, thus avoiding the need to undergo invasive surgery.

A Non-Surgical Nose Job avoids the risks of surgery and has no effect on nasal breathing (as to create breathing problems) as it only involves the injection of a Dermal Filler into the skin. The procedure is very precise and detailed adjustments to the nasal contouring can be achieved.

  • The Procedure. What does it involve?
    • The surgery is performed under general anaesthetic. The actual details of your surgery will vary depending on your desired result and can be discussed with your surgeon.

  • What can I expect after Nose Reshaping surgery?
    • Temporary discomfort, swelling (black eyes), bruising. Pain medication will be prescribed to assist with comfort.

  • Results. What and when can I expect them?
    • The majority of swelling will subside over the first few weeks, however, some swelling can take months to settle, with final results apparent up to a year post surgery.

  • Are there any risks of complications?
    • As with any surgical procedure, there are risks of complications. Your surgeon will discuss with you the general and specific risks associated with Surgical Nose Reshaping.

  • Which clinics can I undertake the procedure?
    • Dr. Choy operates out of Sydney, Canberra & Coffs Harbour, please contact Cosmos Clinic for more details.
