Non-Surgical Eyelid Lift

Non-Surgical Eyelid Lift Quick facts

A Non-Surgical Eyelid Lift (or non-surgical blepharoplasty) is a non-invasive procedure that utilises a Plasma Generator to lift the upper eyelid and treat wrinkles and darkness around the eyes. The machine is a non-surgical alternative to a traditional blepharoplasty that normally requires cutting through skin. The plasma generator machine can be used to treat baggy upper eyelids, wrinkles underneath the eyes, and also various skin conditions and concerns (such as ageing, acne, rosacea, scarring and moles).

  • A plasma device stimulates instant contraction and tightening of skin fibres

  • This technology does not use a scalpel or laser to remove excess skin, thereby having no downtime

  • Avoids risks inherent to the traditional interventions for blepharoplasty and other applications

  • Costs range from $400 and $990, depending on the treatment and treatment area

  • *Disclaimer – results may vary from patient to patient

FAQS

Quick find
  • How does a non surgical blepharoplasty with a plasma generator work?
    • There are 4 states is matter. Solid, liquid, gas and plasma.  Plasma energy is created when a gas passes through an electromagnetic field to create ionised gas particles in the air between the device tip and the skin.

The tiny holes created in the skin with the plasma generator, turn solids into a gas. Therefore, the plasma energy turns the skin to a gaseous state. This process is called sublimation.

When skin around the eyelids is treated via sublimated, the elastic fibers shrink. This tightens and retracts the skin around the eyes. The results of this treatment are similar to those of a blepharoplasty (surgical eyelid lift) but without the scarring or lengthy downtime.

It is important to note that the plasma generator does not damage the surrounding skin or the eye.

  • What conditions can be treated with a plasma generator?
    • The Plasma Generator can effectively tighten loose upper eyelid skin, can treat under eye bags and wrinkles, as well as reduce the appearance of dark circles.

The Plasma Generator machine can also be used for:

      • A Facelift and Necklift. It is a non-surgical method of skin tightening to lift and rejuvenate lax and saggy skin – therefore making it a great option for the face and neck
      • Removing smoker’s lines and wrinkles around the mouth
      • Removing moles (flat or raised), keloid scars, warts, and fibromas
      • Treating pigmentation and sunspots to reduce their appearance
      • Post-surgery scars
      • Acne scars
      • Reducing the appearance of stretch marks
      • Treating active acne by killing germs and acne-causing bacteria
      • Tattoo removal
      • Treating broken blood vessels/capillaries/spider veins
  • How is the plasma generator treatment performed?
    • A topical anaesthetic cream is applied half an hour before the treatment. While the treatment is relatively pain-free, sublimation does result in a smell similar to burnt hair.

For the non-surgical eyelid lift, you may need up to 3 sessions one month apart.

  • What can I expect after the treatment?
    • You will be swollen for about 2 days post treatment and small scabs may appear, lasting 7-14 days. These scabs will fall off natural so do not pick on them. Once the scabs have fallen off, there will be mild redness for about one month.

It’s important not to scratch or pick at the skin during this time, to prevent pigmentation or scarring.

Use an antibiotic cream after the procedure and an anti pigmentation cream if you have dark skin.

  • When will I see results?
    • Results should be visible after about 2-4 weeks and they will continue to improve as new collagen fibers are formed at about the 3 month mark.

It is important to note that the Plasma Generator treatment will not stop the onset of further ageing. Factors such as smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, poor diet and sun damage can all contribute to further ageing of the skin.

Results are expected to last 2-3 years, and the treatments can be repeated.

  • How many treatments will I need?
    • The number of sessions needed during a non-surgical eyelid lift will depend on the severity of the loose skin around your eyes. One treatment is generally enough to see improvements in most people but it will depend on the skin quality, severity of wrinkles and the client’s expectation.

A follow up is made at 3 months as it can take up to 3 months  for the new collagen fibers to form. It is at this stage that a second or even third treatment can be undertaken to achieve the desired outcome.

Results can last about 2-3 years.

  • What are the complications with the plasma generator machine?
    • The  treatment is very safe, on rare occasions, you can get skin depigmentation (whitening) or  hyperpigmentation (in darker skin types).

As with any treatment in darker skin types, prepping the skin with products that aim to reduce reactive hyper pigmentation is essential.

In patients with lighter skin, you can get persisting redness for a couple of months after the procedure.

  • Which clinics can I undertake treatment with the plasma generator machine?
    • Your initial Non-Surgical Eyelid Lift consultation and subsequent procedure can ONLY be undertaken in Sydney.
