What products are used for Chin Enhancement and Contouring?
Dermal Fillers are most commonly used to shape the chin. They are injected, and give the appearance of a more prominent chin in people with a small or protracted chin. At Cosmos Clinic, we use the thickest natural Dermal Filler on the market ensuring the best lifting effect.
Muscle Relaxant Injections are also used to soften the chin and improve the chin contouring. As we age the chin muscle (the mentalis) becomes stronger and pulls the chin up, making the chin point forward rather than south. Injecting a muscle relaxant into the chin muscle restores the chin to its original position.
Why not use implants for Chin Enhancement?
Chin implants run the risk of infections, scar tissue and are difficult to reverse if you do not like the final result. Chin Dermal Fillers tend to be favoured over chin implants because of the reversibility and the very low risk of infection.
Who is a suitable candidate for Chin Enhancement and Contouring?
People with a small or protracted chin make good candidates for Dermal Fillers in the chin, and are particularly common in Asian patients. Chin Enhancement helps to create a more triangular and youthful appearance to lower the face. This can be combined with Jaw Line Contouring and Cheek Augmentation to recreate the youthful triangle of beauty that is seen in models.
Muscle Relaxant Injections and Dermal Fillers are also useful for patients with a chin that appears like an orange peel when they push their lower lip up and out. Again, this creates a more triangular and youthful appearance to the lower face and improves the chin contouring.
As we age the chin pulls up and gives an orange dimpling effect. The use of Dermal Fillers and Muscle Relaxant Injections can restore the chin to its original position; creating a more triangular and youthful appearance to the chin.
Is a Chin Enhancement painful?
Tiny injections are used to deliver the muscle relaxant or/and Dermal Filler into the chin area. There is minimal discomfort and the risk of bruising is low. The swelling is virtually non-existent with the muscle relaxant, while with the Dermal Fillers, the swelling can last 2 to 3 days.
How long does the Chin Enhancement last?
Dermal Fillers injected into the chin can last up to 2 years. Today with the longevity of the Dermal Fillers, you do not need to run the risk of infection and scar tissue with chin implants. Muscle Relaxant Injections will last 3 to 4 months in most cases, results may vary.
Are there any potential complications?
Dermal Fillers and Muscle Relaxant Injections are very safe. The risk of swelling and bruising in this area is very low.
How much will it cost?
The cost of Chin Enhancement procedures using Dermal Fillers can vary widely depending on your overall situation and expectations. An initial consultation will cost you $120, however this is redeemable should you go ahead with treatment. The cost of Dermal Fillers into the chin will range between $600 and $1,650, and the Muscle Relaxant injections between $120 and $150.
