    THE TREATMENT

Minimise the appearance of a gummy smile in 10 minutes

The treatment is a simple and quick ‘walk in walk out’ procedure. Results will take effect at around 2 weeks and, in most cases, lasts 3 to 4 months. (*Results may vary from patient to patient)

There will be tiny marks, like mosquito bites, which will last for a few minutes. The ice also assists in constricting the blood vessels and therefore minimising the chances of bruising.

Relaxing the Gummy Smile with an Injectable Muscle Relaxant is a procedure designed to reduce the elevation of the upper lip. This can minimise the amount of excessive gum seen when smiling and it can give a more attractive and symmetrical smile. The quick and virtually painless procedure can be done in 10 minutes.  The procedure involves one injection that is administered into the soft tissue and muscle that elevates the upper lip.

    The average cost is $120-150

    What is a Gummy Smile?

A Gummy Smile is when a large portion of a person’s gums can be seen when they smile. This can lead to a person feeling self-conscious when they smile.

    Causes of a Gummy Smile

There are several causes of a Gummy Smile, but one of the most common can be over-active muscles controlling the upper lip. This can be easily corrected with a simple injection.

How long will the Gummy Smile Treatment results last?

The treatment is a simple and quick ‘walk in walk out’ procedure. Results will take effect at around 2 weeks and in most cases last 3 to 4 months.

Are there any risks of complications?

Gummy Smile reduction with Injectable Muscle Relaxants is safe when administered by a medical professional. There have been no permanent side effects reported for Gummy Smile Treatment using Injectable Muscle Relaxants. Most patients will have the treatment regularly, and for many years without ever encountering an issue. Muscle Relaxing Injections have been used for over 20 years in both cosmetic and therapeutic treatments without any reported long term issue. In fact, Injectable Muscle Relaxants are commonly used in much higher dosages to treat children with cerebral palsy to reduce muscle spasms, lazy eye and excessive sweating.
