Facial laser rejuvenation helps to increase or restore youthful appearance to the face. Laser rejuvenation utilises light energy and can stimulate collagen remodeling and remove irregular pigmentation and enlarged blood vessels from the skin surface. It can help with conditions such as sun damage, acne and acne scarring, rosacea and loss of elasticity in the skin. Because laser rejuvenation does not injure the outer layers of skin, there is minimal, if any, downtime, and no prolonged healing phase like medium-deep skin peels.

BBL (Broad Band Light). How does it work?

The underlying principal of Laser technology is to create a controlled injury to certain “target” structures in the dermis, while completely sparing the epidermis from damage. 
The light energy delivered by the BBL gently heats up the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate the skin cells. This will restore your skin to its youthful beauty, making it smoother and more vibrant. Conditions that can be treated by BBL include facial wrinkles, rosacea, broken capillaries, sun damage, hyperpigmentation, age spots, and minor surface irregularities.

How many BBL treatments will i need?

At Cosmos Clinic,  Sciton’s state of the art BBL laser to improve skin complexion and texture.

3  treatments are usually advised roughly a month apart for best results, with yearly “maintenance” treatments. There is no visible wound, and the treatments are painless, with only a slight warming sensation. Treatments take  30 minutes or less to perform and can be easily performed in your lunch break. This relatively painless treatment may result in some redness post-procedure lasting 6-24hours. The light energy from the Sciton BBL directly heats the “broken capillary” and superficial “brown spots” resulting in a marked improvement in the skin complexion and colouring.

Are these treatments safe?

When performed by experienced doctors and registered nurses, lasers are very safe and can be performed almost anywhere on the body with very little or no risk of scarring.

In order to avoid damaging the epidermis, a cooling device is applied prior to the firing of the laser beam. Risks of burning are rare when quality equipment is used in trained, experienced hands.

Do these treatments hurt?

Treatment with lasers is described as a mild to moderate discomfort depending on the intensity of the treatment. A topical anaesthetic can be used for patient comfort if necessary.

Cost of BBL

Initial consultation can be taken at either of our Cosmetic Clinics in Sydney or Canberra  and costs $120. This is redeemable should you go through with any treatment. Laser rejuvenation for the face cost will vary depending on the treatment required and number of treatments.  Single treatment for full face is $550 however packages are available.
