Cheek Augmentation Information

As we age our cheeks become hollow and lose volume. Cheeks can be augmented using synthetic dermal fillers like JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA®.

JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA® is a new advanced injectable gel (dermal fillers) that restores lost facial volume, it also combines with collagen and elastin to help provide skin structure and elasticity.

JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA® is a smooth injectable gel that is made from a natural complex sugar called hyaluronic acid (HA) and is the thickest of the juvederm range. Naturally found in human skin, HA also assists in skin hydration by attracting and holding water. It is specially formulated to be used deep in the skin to add natural looking volume to the midface and cheek bone areas.

Cheek Augmentation Procedure

The Cosmos team have been using Voluma™ for mid and lower face enhancement since its launch with amazing results. Previously to reduce patient discomfort when treating with Voluma™ topical gels and local anaesthetic injections have been used, which would often distort the natural contours of the face making it a little more difficult to create balance and symmetry. But now with the addition of Lidocaine (anaesthetic) to the new product VOLUMA™ XC there is no need for additional numbing. With the incorporation of Lidocaine to the filler this means the Dr or Nurse can quickly and safely numb each individual area as they are treating reducing the need for further injections so, generally there is just one insertion point on each side, the entire treatment process can take less than 1 hour, during which time there is minimal pain

What are the side effects of Cheek Augmentation?

You will have mild swelling for approximately 2 days. Some mild swelling and bruising may last up to a week (this can easily be covered with make up). Lumps are rare and can be dissolved with a simple injection when a non-permanent hyaluronic acid filler is used.

How long will the Cheek Augmentation last?

You can expect to receive instant, natural looking and long lasting results with JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA®.

The final results will be evident about a week after the swelling goes down. The thicker forms of synthetic dermal fillers will last up to 18 months.
