Shaping your lips with Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers (Login for more info) such as Hyaluronic Acids are commonly used to augment the body and border of the lips. These products can also assist in the removal of ‘smoker’s lines’ just above and around the lips. Product selection will vary according to the patient’s requirements and the desired outcome.
The procedure involves a anaesthetic cream to numb the area, followed by a filler to add volume to the area of interest.
Following the procedure you will experience minor swelling for approximately 1- 2 days. In some cases mild swelling and bruising may persist for up to a week. You will need to avoid make-up for the first 24 hours following the procedure.
Results will be evident about a week after all the swelling subsides. Results last approximately from 6 months (in the lips) and up to 12 months in other areas of the face.
